3✨ I liked that they talked about taking care of the animals better in circus‘. Dolittle is constantly getting himself into jail because of his animals. There is only a few side stories this time so it follows one main plot. Not a bad read. #DolittleDiscussion @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Salvos Forbes came up with the goods. My sister found me the vintage jumpers. The top jacket and shirt are for my giant, baby nephew. You can guess what his two favourite things in the world are. Grand total $48.50.

This is the story of two orphans, Rose and Pierrot, who fall in love as children before being separated in their teens. Their lives are hard and challenging and at times cruel. They never forget about one another and at various points try to find each other. This author excels at writing about hardship and tragedy while maintaining a comedic although dark tone. I‘ve recently read two different books by this author and just want more and more!

Reading this was truly like going to the circus as a child. Meeting the performers before witnessing their unbelievable acts, getting lost in a maze of awe-inspiring sights, the mystery, not knowing what was going to happen next, and the incredible letdown when you know you have to leave.

At first, I didn't know what to make of this book. Children forced to learn magic for a game only to find out one must die. One wild ride.

The fourth Dolittle book is set back in England. As usual (because of his generous nature) Dolittle is broke, so the pushmi-pullyu agrees to travel with a circus to raise some funds. So the entire household sets off together. This book was a lot about the importance of animal comfort and care and was definitely ahead of its time in calling out circuses and the like for their treatment of animals. There were some fun moments (Dolittle getting ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) arrested AGAIN 😂). The ending was quite abrupt, but it appears that book 5 is going to pick up right where this one left off.

Roary47 Oh man I need to catch up. I got two weeks of grading and I‘m out for the summer. I‘ll catch up soon! 3mo
TheAromaofBooks @Roary47 - I use a complicated number generator method to choose my next book, and somehow two Dolittle books got picked almost back to back! 😂 So no rush!! 3mo
