#30daysofgratitude #givingtuesday

What a wonderful way to end the month! Thank you for hosting this @jb72 !

My personal charities are:
The HRC, which I‘m a member of.
and local relief funds in my town which I donate to whenever I have extra cash: a women‘s shelter, a food pantry, and a heating assistance fund.

Crazeedi I donate to my local charity too, and to my local library 3y
jb72 That is wonderful! I‘ve been thinking of contacting our local food bank. Especially when I have an abundance of fresh eggs. 3y

Day 30 of #30DaysOfGratitude

Thank you for hosting this @jb72 it has been a great month :)

I donate to Guide Dogs UK each month. They train up puppies to be guide dogs to help people with sight loss. This December though I would like to also make a donation to our local dog and cat shelter as they are unable to open for the usual Christmas event this year!

So thanks to all the wonderful charities for all they do for their causes ❤️

#30daysofgratitude #givingtuesday #newyear_newyou

This year (2020) I committed to donating a few dollars each month to a charity. I plan to continue this challenge next year. Here are a few of my favorites:

https://www.mikeroweworks.org/ 🥾

https://imaginationlibrary.com/ 📚

https://www.facebook.com/disabilitysportsfoundation/ 👟

https://humanesocietytampa.org/ 🐶🐱

https://www.turtlehospital.org/ 🐢

jb72 And remember even if you don‘t have money to spare, you have a voice and time to give to that charity. Lending a helping hand is just as important. Be an advocate. 3y

Crazeedi @jb72 mikeroweworks is an amazing place. He says there are 6 million good paying jobs that are dying for talented people. I love him 3y
Crazeedi @jb72 I donate to a local charity called Charitable Deeds, they have no overhead it's all voluntary and they help with utilities, food giveaway monthly, clothing furniture etc 3y
jb72 @Crazeedi He has talked on interviews how hard it is to give away scholarship money. I find that so sad. 3y
jb72 @Crazeedi that sounds like a wonderful charity. 3y
JacqMac Thanks for doing this challenge. I was hit or miss with posting, but it was always in my mind. It helped more than you know. I have been donating to the local food bank every time I buy groceries. Every little bit counts these days. (edited) 3y
Sharpeipup Are you in Florida?!? 3y
Sharpeipup What a great group of charities! 3y
jb72 @Sharpeipup I am from Florida. Four years ago I moved to KY. I definitely do not fit in here. I am hoping to move back to Florida in the near future. 3y
jb72 @JacqMac I‘m so glad you joined in when you could. It was so nice to have such a group of wonderful Litsy people. 3y
Read4life I enjoyed this challenge. Thank you for putting it together. We donate to Duke Children‘s Hospital, the local animal shelters and my daughter is taking part in a challenge to collect food for the NC food bank. 3y
Sharpeipup Sorry to hear you don‘t feel at home there but I completely understand what you mean as I moved back to Florida myself nearly 2 years ago 3y

Nov 29 Prompt Old movies - There are some old movies out there I just love. Let‘s show some old movies our love and gratitude. Many have given me joy and laughs through the years. Old is relative here. Pick whatever suits your fancy.
Gratitude
1. Christmas Vacation
2. African Queen
3. War of the Worlds original
4. White Christmas
5. Miracle on 34th Street original
6. Desk Set
7. Breakfast at Tiffany‘s
8. The Addams Family

TheAromaofBooks Growing up our Friday night movie night was so frequently comprised of old flicks that a friend of mine who used to come regularly thought that our tv was black & white! 😂 3y
jb72 @TheAromaofBooks That is so funny! When I was a kid we had black & white TVs with aluminum foil and rabbit ears. 3y
See All 8 Comments
ElizaMarie These are some great ones! I really enjoy old Hitchcock movies ;) 3y
Sharpeipup Good selection! 3y
TheAromaofBooks We had a roof-top antenna that you could turn (to get better reception for different channels) but pulling a rope in the upstairs closet, which was very far from the television, so basically you had to have one person watching the TV to see if the reception was improving, one person yelling the “better/worse“ message from the bottom of the stairs, & one person cranking the antenna 😂 3y
jb72 @TheAromaofBooks Yep I remember those too. Or you‘d be the one kid holding the rabbit ears in place so everyone could watch TV. 3y

#30DaysOfGratitude @jb72

Our prompt today is #OptOutdoors, and did I ever need it! With the darkness hitting us so early now, I have not been making ample time to get out and get moving. Today I threw on a warm coat, queued up a podcast, and walked for close to an hour. It felt so, so good. I need to remember that.

Thankful for:

-A neighborhood that I feel safe walking in
-A strong body, whatever its imperfections
-Time to just BE
