Thumbs up...good story, decent twist, just the right length.
I learned a lot about sleepwalking! Crazy stuff. I liked the protagonist. Actually, I liked all the characters.
Loved this book! Such a unique and intriguing story! I didn't see that ending coming at all. Well played @ChrisBohjalian ... well played! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I didn't really know what to expect from this but I love Bohjalian's writing so I went in blindly. I came out pleasantly surprised! I did think the main character came off a bit petulant at times but having suffered a loss, I understood. Sleep walking is a real and serious condition and lends itself to this moving and equally creepy story!
It is because of you Lovely Littens that I decided to again try OverDrive. Last time I was unimpressed with the selection and the wait time but I keep seeing comments about OverDrive and about using Libraries. All of your random, subtle “libraries are awesome” comments worked their way into my brain where they waited and grew as more amazing Littens noted more and more about utilizing the library system. I am now devoted to digital-library-ing!
Meeting superfan puppy, Velvet the Wonder Dog, in Newport Beach. Velvet is a rescue dog: she belongs to Scott Simonsen, who is writing THE SLEEPWALKER screenplay. Here we are with Scott‘s son, Kai.
Oh my. This was grueling to finish. I loved this author‘s book “The Midwives”, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, it kept getting worse and worse. Felt no sympathy for the characters. Sex scenes not appreciated. The big reveal at the end was a big disappointment. The only reason I did not give it a pan is because I now have some knowledge of parasomnia, and the author (who I know is on Litsy) seems like a nice guy!
Starting this one tonight. I feel like I am really indecisive about what to read these days! I have started and stopped several books in the last few weeks....knowing full well I will go back to most of them (so I don‘t count it as bailing, quite yet). I don‘t know...I think I still have a hangover from A Little Life! 🤷♀️🙈
I just had the privilege of signing a boatload of books at the altogether wonderful Barnes and Noble in Livonia, Michigan. Not a dream, even if my new paperback is "The Sleepwalker." Nearby? Please drop by! #amreading #grateful @doubledaybooks
"A dark, Hitchcockian novel." -- The Washington Post.
On sale now, the beautiful new paperback edition.
My deepest thanks to the teams at Vintage Books and @DoubledayBooks and to all my readers. Color me deeply grateful.
For all my friends in reading groups, a reminder: the paperback of "The Sleepwalker" arrives two weeks from today. Want me to join your group when you read it? Visit the Reading Group Center at www.ChrisBohjalian.com and sign up.
Glad Irma is gone. I tried to read yesterday but was just anxious. Just got power back after losing it at 3 am. I'm exhausted.
I'm melting! We retreated to the swimming hole to try and beat this heat. I got only 5 min of reading in before the kids dragged me into the water. Though for once I'm not complaining... #readeverywhere #ihatehotweather
I loved seeing Chris again. So elegant and gentile! I told him that I follow him on Litsy and he knew me! He said I had a great feed! How exciting!!!
This is about all the #litsypartyofone I'll be getting in this weekend. There rest of the time will be spent visiting family. Wishing all of you a very quiet party with no interruptions!
This was my first Bohjalian book and man I have been missing out. Such a tale he weaved. It had me guessing and changing my views throughout. I did figure out who did it 3/4 of the way through but not the how. That was saved until the end. I will definitely be reading more of his books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 big ones!!
