I love Japanese fiction. However, I think my dog liked this one more than I did since he tried to eat it. Lol. I hate bailing on books, but I can't go on. Does anyone else love Murakami, but couldn't get through this?

Couple things - for #riotgrams my husband and I love the idea of turning this into an anime series. But I‘m always a little hesitant to want for adaptations too much because of the risk that they‘ll ruin it.

Secondly, this is my all-time favorite book cover. And a fantastic book. Although it takes a strong stomach to get through certain parts. #murakamicultmember

I'm about a third of the way into this book. It's typical Murakami. Cats, music, weird sex dreams, etc. I loved 1Q84 and this one seems very similar.

This took me quite a while to get through again, but I still very much enjoyed it.

This time sleep came to me-a deep sleep that all but pulled me by my ankles to the bottom of the sea.
(I want to fall asleep like that)

I've heard this is Murakami's best work. It's hard to believe I haven't read it yet, but here we go!

As with other Murakami's books, this one is weird yet enchanting. I have a love-hate relationship with Murakami; his fictions are of one flavour but I crave for it once in a while.
Isn't the Japanese version's cover amazing?👆
