Is this weird, just finished reading Housekeeping by Marilynn Robinson and now reading Marlena by Julie Buntin, she mentions "Ruthie and Sylvie in the boat"?
This kind of thing happens to me all the time.

Question - what books (preferably fiction) should liberal So Cal women read to try to understand the conservatives? The country is so divided right now we all need to consider the other sides perspective.

Notafraidofwords Try reading Evicted by Desmond. A lot of different sides there. 3y

The Corrections | Jonathan Franzen

Looking for suggestions for book club for a Family Novel not necessarily a Family Saga. Something along the lines of The Corrections.

BookBabe I'll have to think on that. Meanwhile, what an awesome image! 😍 3y
BookBabe I haven't read The Corrections, but I recommend The Children by Ann Leary—takes place at a lake house, about a very interesting (and dysfunctional) wealthy family whose money has dwindled away. 3y

#reccomendsday I loved this book. I've read it twice and discussed it in all 5 of my book groups. Told from the point of view of s young girl growing up in 1960s Chicago with her mother, a singer always yearning for the spotlight. It looks at alternative lifestyles and addresses the question "what makes a family?"
