I have been so impressed by these books. The characters are wonderful and the stories full of unexpected twists and turns.

There's also the constant sense of something more to the story, especially to the villain, yet to be revealed.

I will be waiting for the release of the next book with anticipation!

Morrigan Crow is just such a delightful character to read about and these books are just so fun I want to give them to everyone I know from kid to grown ups! Nevermoor has been hit by a horrible sickness turning wunimals into just regular animals and Morrigan Crow has to do everything she can to fix it, even if it means teaming up with someone she hates. The ending left me wanting the next book now and even it they are long books they are fun!

The third book about Morrigan Crow and I love these books.

A mysterious illness is affecting the Wunimals in Nevermoor. And when they wake up, they are hollow hence the HollowPox. The quest to find a cure begins.

At the same time Morrigan start to learn more about what it means to be a Wundersmith.

I love the hotel Deucalion and its people, but also Morrigan friend‘s Hawthorne and Cadence.

This was my #DoubleSpin in September

BrittanyReads I love these, as well! Still need to read this one! 4mo
TheAromaofBooks I read the first book when it was first published, but haven't gotten around to reading the additions that have come since then - definitely need to do so since I really enjoyed the first one!! 4mo

Currently reading a history book, a modern classic and an MG adventure - so of course the pleasure of reading about Morrison Crow (and Fenestra the Magnificat!) won the race.
The bizarre thing about this third book in the trilogy is that it was written pre Covid and yet includes an epidemic, quarantines, public protests and community divisions. Prescient much? 😬 But such a fun ride. This world is a lovely place to spend a couple of days.

CarolynM Oh dear! That sounds a bit too much like real life😬 4mo
Centique @CarolynM the benefit here is that a bit of magic and some plucky kids Solve Everything. That felt quite cathartic. 🙂 I hope you‘re going ok Carolyn. 💕 4mo
Reggie I don‘t know why I find that so funny. I shouldn‘t because hospitals are so full in some places here they‘re turning away people. And then I started a pandemic book earlier where they gave the U.S. credit for taking it serious. To which I thought, Oh this MUST be fiction. Please forgive the sarcasm. The world could use some plucky, magical, kids about now. 4mo
Centique @Reggie I get ya 💕 You get to a point you either cry or get sarcastic. And I‘ve done both. 😬 I should clarify that the epidemic in the book is entirely different and of course it‘s MG so everything can be solved. I wish for a fantasy world myself where things were so easy. 4mo

I'm loving my journey with Morrigan. I think this was my favourite of the three books that I've read and I am eagerly looking forward to book 4 being published.
This is such a whimsical and magical story with the found family trope. These are such fun books to escape into for all ages. Love them.

tracey38 I really want to read this series! I've heard nothing but good things. 6mo
LazyOwl @tracey38 I definitely think it's worth a read 6mo

1 Apr-8 May 2021 (audiobook)
This series just gets better. The 2nd and 3rd books have broken the HP mold - the world and characters are original and enchanting.
The idea of telling a whole population to remain indoors to avoid contagion or harm was probably unthinkable when writing - in the book that population revolted and refused to be locked down. Who would have thought that here in Australia a city of 5m would largely comply for three months?

Hollowpox is book 3 in the series and our MC, Morrigan Crow, has settled into her life of learning at the Wunderous Society. Her new lessons are helping guide and strengthen her gift each day. And then a disease sweeps through the nation, affecting select individuals causing them to go crazy and then collapse, and it's up to Morrigan to save the day. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a Harry Potter-esque readalike.

I love this series! It‘s just as magical as Harry Potter, but it feels more whimsical to me. I also really love Morrigan, Jupiter, and the other characters. Plus, Ezra Squall is an excellent villain, because he‘s so complex. Honestly, I can‘t wait for the next installment, and I hope there are many more books to come in this series!

So much fun being back in this unique and brilliant world, and it provided a great escape which I NEEDED. With each book, I care more about Morrigan, like she‘s the little sister I never had. Love watching her grow and learn, even if that takes her to some scary places. This is a bit too long and took a while to get where it was going, but it‘s still such an enjoyable experience to be in this world. Now the wait for book 4 begins! 4/5 ⭐️

“Where have you been all day?” Jack demanded.

“Nunya Business Boulevard,” said Fenestra. “Lovely spot, wish I was there now.”

[I adore Fenestra, that wonderful enormous sarcastic cat 😹😹😹]

“Because often, Miss Crow, telling people they are at risk creates a different, sometimes even greater risk. People are dangerous when they‘re frightened.”

Morrigan wasn‘t sure she‘d ever had reason or inclination to use the word fabulous before, but there was no other word for Ms. Wu. She wore the tallest, shiniest shoes Morrigan had ever seen, fiery red lipstick, & a tailored aubergine-colored three-piece suit. She had a high sleek black ponytail with a shaved undercut, & a row of hefty diamond studs along the outer edge of her left ear. She was dressed even better than Jupiter. She was *fabulous*.

EEEEEPP the Owlcrate Jr Hollowpox box got here yesterday!! Perfect timing b/c do I ever need a wonderful MG fantasy to get lost in & distract myself with today. And the box is terrific! Started this last night, sucks that I have to work today and the phones are super busy because that means reading a little now before work, a little on my half hour lunch, and that‘s it until 4:30 😩😩😩 But anyway I‘m so happy to have this in my hands finally!!!

Book 104

The Hollowpox plague is attacking Wunimals, animals with human levels of intelligence. Because Wunimals have only been accepted as having the same rights as full humans in the last generation, people are turning on them and demanding all Wunimals be locked away to keep humans safe.

This hit a bit too close in 2020, I have had to take more mental health breaks than a YA novel for 8-12 Year Olds about talking animals in should require.

AbbaZabba02 Still, an excellent book that I highly enjoyed. I look forward to more from Ms Townsend in the future! 1y

We got a good snow today. 🌨

It was a wonderful walk to work. Big fat falling flakes, crunchy footsteps, rosy cheeks & a wonderful audiobook on the headphones.

The best was the walk home though. Just the right kind of chilly - and getting all cozy after in comfy sweats, warm blankets, hot tea and a perfect book with some great music.

For me - the best season of the year is just beginning & I am so friggen excited. I love winter oh so much. 🥰

Cortg I‘m not a fan of winter, but this sounds wonderful! 1y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @Cortg I love it so much. To be completely honest though...by the end of February I have definitely had my fill of it and start getting pretty grumpy at the cold & snow. 😅 But November through January I am so in love with the season. 🥰 1y

It has been so hard holding off on this book since I got it last week. I wanted to wait until today (my day off) to dive in so I could give it my full attention and kinda make a day of it, ya know?

And that day is here now. I got my coffee...a nice pile of blankets...and the time to read for as long as I want. 😁

Fair warning...I'm gonna be going off about this book for awhile now. The only thing that comes close to my fanboying is that series that shall not be named and since I don't talk about that on socials anymore cuz the author is a dirty sack of balls this is my new obsession (and frankly might even end up being a better series when all is said and done).

It's finally HEEEEEEERE! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Hollowpox is the 3rd book in the Nevermoor series and it is easily one of my most anticipated books for 2020. If not the most anticipated even!

This is the UK edition - it won't be officially released here in Canada until next week (I have a copy of that edition ordered too) but I am ecstatic to have this in my hands now.

Aaaaaaah! I have been wanting this book for Sooooo long now! 🤸🤸🤸🤸🤸
