I am very indifferent about this book. But I really don't care for Tobias. I feel oh so bad for Beatrice, all the killing and murder

I remember reading this one in its entirety on the way home from a beach vacation several years ago. I definitely liked the premise, but felt the story fell apart in the rest of the series. 🤓
The book Divergent by Veronica Roth is a must read. In the book Veronica Roth creates complex characters, a extremely interesting plot, and a great story full of twists and turns.
Just finished Divergent and it was great as expected so now onto Insurgent!!
Haha!!! Turned out to be one of my favorite series ever which definitely needs to be re-read for sure.
I couldn‘t help but laugh at times at how truly bad this was, but that doesn‘t mean I don‘t respect the fans Roth has won herself around the world, and the power that a beloved series like this can have in ensuring the continuing literacy of younger generations. I won‘t be reading any more of Roth‘s work, but I don‘t begrudge anyone who finds joy in it. Full review: http://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/divergent-veronica-roth/ #Dystopia #AmReading
One of my favourite series, only read book one so far, but I'm hooked! As much as I'd love to say I'm Divergent, I could never do half the stuff Tris does 😂

“Intentions are the only thing they care about. They try to make you think they care about what you do, but they don‘t. They don‘t want you to act a certain way. They want you to think a certain way. So you‘re easy to understand. So you won‘t pose a threat to them.”
Parents, literally! 🙄Except for the threat thing.

"I believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another" Divergent by Veronica Roth
Bailing for now. Maybe I'll finish it someday. Reads too much like the movie which I already saw.
Pulled and All nighter reading this book!
I enjoyed it a lot, I am secretly in love with Eric 😆
One thing that surprised me was their ages in the book there aged 16 and 18 in the film I would have aged them at late teen early 20's.
Definitely a very enjoyable read now on to the next one. #readingmyownbooks #divergent #reading #books #triliogy
Quote Monday! That‘s what I‘m going to do. Anyway, here‘s a quote from Divergent...
“I believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another.”
SPOILER in this review. This book was awesome! I want to get the next one now! Tris and Four? Yesss!!! Amazing. Will 😭😭😭. Why‘d she have to do that to him?! Couldn‘t she have shot his foot or something instead? I mean now her friend is gonna be soo mad in the next book! I would be too! But at least the Dauntless aren‘t being controlled anymore. Why‘d she put the drive with the power to control everyone in her POCKET! Could you not DESTROY IT?!

Day 28: #favorite
The Divergent series is definitely a nostalgic favorite of mine. I think I can say that I‘m one of the few readers who thought the ending (of the series itself) was a good (though unbearably sad) one. It was definitely unexpected 😩

Wrapping up my April reading was Divergent. I really loved this book and finished it in one sit-down! I am excited to read the others. #divergent #april
I read this series years ago, but I was looking for an audiobook that would be easy to follow while packing and moving...hopefully this is the last hectic weekend for us!! I was browsing through Libby and wanted to refresh this story 😁
All done!
One of the best SF series I have read! This dystopian novel would be great for a LC in a upper level middle or high school literature class. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Browse/Search:divergent is a great resource that shows different lessons and activities teachers can plan around the novel, including a few that align with common core standards.
This SF novel by Veronica Roth is still one of my favorites! It‘s taken place in the future where this town is divided into 5 sections based on their personality. You follow through Tris‘ life where she realizes what kind of world she‘s living in. Children in middle school would love this book and it would be good as a IR. It would be awesome if students answered these questions in a PowerPoint form and presented to the class.
Divergent (SF) written by Veronica Roth tells how the world would be if you had to take a test and be placed in a certain group based on those results. It‘s not all fun and games in this novel though. This would be a great LC book for 6-12. UDL 8.2 Vary demands and resources to optimize challenge. EL strategy 37 Use language experience techniques in discussing concepts and ideas.

I tried this one a few years back. I have come to the realisation that dystopian fiction really isn‘t for me.
Hot DAMN is this book a joyride. There are not enough words in any language to describe just how amazing this novel is. When I finished the book late in the evening one night, I had to sit there in bed for a few minutes just to absorb all the important morals that the book was able to slip into my mind while reading. After I was able to come to terms with my loss I went directly to my father‘s shelf and grabbed Insurgent. Highly recommend. Read it
#worstcouple #lovehate @ErinSueG @WhiskeyMistress for my worst couple I chose Tris and Four. I loved them together in the first book, but much like the series as a whole, it was down hill from there. Ultimately they did not trust in each and that creates so much unneeded conflict. Then the 3rd book throws the least intimate or needed sex scene. I was so over them by then! I know this might be sacrilege.
Tris looking at Peter like : You're going to die.
Guess who‘s reading this baby for the fourth time?
This book is quite nostalgic for me as it was the book that first got me into reading about 4 years ago after a liftetime of literally hating books. It has never lost it‘s place in my heart ❤️
Also, you can see how I didn‘t care for books at the time hehehe.
Divergent is played out in a future Chicago, and instead of having political parties and government there are factions. You are born into a certain faction. Once you are sixteen years old, you are tested to see in which faction you belong in. Most people who go through the test end up being what they are born, but some people change factions. Beatrice 'Tris' had a choice, but ended up choosing the faction she had admired since she was little.
