This pains me as I love this authors writing. I love retelling‘s and I love a good romance. However…this was so inconsistent almost like two different voices wrote this. This just fell flat. All the way around actually. Not a fan. #100readschallenge #readingchallenge2022

I wanted to like this way more than I actually did, because I love fairy tale retelling. It has its good moments but the characters are basically unlikeable with no character development, and the writing is hasty in parts.

Up next is hold #2, The Evil Queen by Gena Showalter

Looks like #JudeDeveraux is trying a remake of A Knight in Shining Armor, can't wait for this one. #penguin #classic collectors edition has some amazing illustrations.

I love #retellings of the #fairytale stories I grew up. This book like #onceuponatime (tv series) made my whole view of The Evil Queen change. You get an entire new perspective. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. #LitsyLove

I loved, loved, LOVED this book.
It sucked me in right from the start, as is usual with Gena's books.
I am amazed at how much I fell for the characters.
This unique take on Snow White blew my mind and I cannot wait for new books from this series to come out.

This was bad. Like next level bad. I hear there‘s a second book which I‘m sure will be just as bad but I‘m gonna read it anyway. (I can‘t stand to not finish a story, I have to know what happens even if it sucks bad, like reaaaaaaaally bad)

Fairytale retellings are one of my favorite genres of books and I normally love them! However I‘m struggling SO HARD with this book. It seems so childish and has no good character or world building at all. I‘m trying so hard to finish it but I don‘t know if I can. 😭

Already a couple pages in and loving it so far. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was always my favorite story and to see it in a different style is something I never thought I had to get my hands on. 😁

Guys...I couldn‘t. This was just bad. The dialogue was awful, the characters were just annoying. It was like being around a bunch of high schoolers that have NOTHING interesting to say. Skip this. #struggle

My latest #tbrpile for #augustrso2019 some Oz 🇦🇺📚stuff there which makes me happy, but also a blockbuster too. A good mix of middle and older readers.

I think this is my favorite ARC from NetGalley so far! Not done yet, but I'm loving it!

I love Showalters adult books. I expect nothing less of her teen books. Also good for #Booked2019 #retelling.
