Heartstopper Volume Two
Heartstopper Volume Two | Alice Oseman
Boy meets boy. Boys become friends. Boys fall in love. An LGBTQ+ graphic novel about life, love, and everything that happens in between: this is the second volume of HEARTSTOPPER, for fans of The Art of Being Normal, Holly Bourne and Love, Simon. Nick and Charlie are best friends. Nick knows Charlie's gay, and Charlie is sure that Nick isn't. But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is discovering all kinds of things about his friends, his family ... and himself. Heartstopper is about friendship, loyalty and mental illness. It encompasses all the small stories of Nick and Charlie's lives that together make up something larger, which speaks to all of us. This is the second volume of Heartstopper, with more to come.

I adored every bit of this even if it sometimes makes me anxious because I'm reliving bits of my own teenage anxiety.

Anyone else love these books but find yourself unable to watch the Netflix adaptation because you have too many feels? Just me? Alright then.

I liked more this second volume than the first one.
In some points this story get a little bit too cringe for my standards, but it's okay, when I started this book I was aware of what would be in this book.

While I was reading this, I couldn‘t get over the fact that this author can write one really bad book (I‘m talking about the book Radio Silence NOT Heartstopper these are perfection) and then this great series. I love these but still, Charlie‘s body proportions are extremely weird. 5🌟

I cannot remember the last time that I read a book and immediately went to the bookstore to pick up the next one. Honestly, it might have been around 2008 with Charlene Harris.
I am utterly in love with this series. It is heartwarming and happy but not delusional. I cried, I smirked, I smiled, I felt GOOD after reading it.
I am excited to see what comes next for Charlie and Nick

Similarly to the first part, this was a really quick read and I still LOVE all of the characters. I really enjoyed reading something lighthearted and fun because the last couple of books I‘ve read have been dark and quite tense, so this was a nice break. (Also the copy I had included a mini comic about Tara and Darcy, and let me tell you it was soooo CUTE)

The second volume of the Heartstopper series and wow I‘m in love. I enjoyed the first one, but I enjoyed this one even more. This one was so full of love and warmth. I am wicked excited for the Netflix show to come out!! Highly recommend for a quick, queer love story.

Volume 2 in this graphic novel series. So cute!! Adorable! A perfect book that can be use to explain or educate others about LGBQTT. The author just talk about many important topics like respect, family/friends/community support, emotions, acceptance and others. It seems a simple graphic novel but it is not, is so much more. Love it!!! 4/4.5⭐️

In Heartstopper pt. 2, Nick admits his feelings for Charlie. They start going out, but in secret. Nick is not ready to come out to his friends or the school yet about him being bisexual.

So far, I‘m enjoying this whole series. It‘s just so cute. Nick and Charlie are my favorite. In this one, I like that the major and minor characters are becoming more flushed out.

My Digital hold came in yesterday and I once again read in one sitting.

I've exhausted my Library's content so I'm going to buy Volume 3. Marking my Calendar for Volume 4 which comes out December 7th. 👨🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼 #bingereading

GondorGirl You might check the Hoopla app. It's connected to the libraries, but I find they have a lot of different books. I read a lot of graphic novels that way. 10mo

I don‘t know how it is possible, but I love Nick and Charlie more after reading this volume. I love how sweet they are with each other. I hate Nick‘s friends ( I want to punch them in their faces) but it made my heart happy when he stood up to them for Charlie. Nick and Charlie just make my heart so happy. On to the next volume!

How is this volume even better than the first? You were right @ThePageantHam ! Is it unrealistic that two teen boys would be this thoughtful and gentle with each other all the time? Maybe, but I don‘t care. It‘s so sweet.

Volume 3 should be in for me soon too 😁.

I thought about making rice noodles & gochujang broth for supper, possibly with a boiled egg involved, then decided to go for the simplest possible variant: 3-minute spicy shrimp noodles with a raw egg cracked in. It was mighty good.

I‘m excited about this comic, too. Looks like I‘m in for a pre-bed binge read.

How was this even cuter than the first volume?? I love Nick and Charlie so much 😍 They have such a loving, supportive relationship it makes my heart melt. Nick is struggling with figuring out his identity and Charlie just lends emotional support. They are so good at communicating their feelings, which is so nice to see portrayed in relationships. I love this journey for them 💕

Heartstopper Volume 2 is my #Bookspin for March. My #Doublespin is a book I own on my Kindle. I may have to put titles in a bowl or spin the wheel to decide on it. I purchased a lot of Kindle books in the last year. 😳 I‘m currently working on my bingo card. 🤓 🖍 🖊 ✏️📏📔

Reggie And there are some times when you look at all those kindle books and they‘ve become the books you never want to read just then. Lol 1y
TheAromaofBooks A year or so ago I actually went through all my Kindle books and created a spreadsheet of them because it's sooooo hard for me to read them when I can't see them on my shelf! It's my biggest struggle with Kindle books. 1y
Bookzombie @Reggie So true! I was looking at some older stuff, probably freebies, and I was wondering if I would ever want to read them too. Lol 1y
Bookzombie @TheAromaofBooks This is a good idea! I sometimes feel overwhelmed when I see all the covers and can‘t pick one too. 1y
TheAromaofBooks I really hate reading books that are in series out of order (especially by accident) so part of the spreadsheet thing was also seeing if books were in series so I can easily check them before reading. My sister & I share our Kindle libraries so it's extra confusing because her books show up as well!! 1y

I enjoyed this installment more than the first one & felt that the story really gained some traction with this volume. I love how wholesome & kind Nick & Charlie are. I love how they interact with one another & how respectful their relationship is. This volume presents some really fantastic exploration of discovering one's own sexual preferences. It felt incredibly authentic & super accessible. A really great choice for graphic novel introduction.

I adore this series. The books resonate particularly with me because the school experience, the insecurity, mental health problems, falling in love for the first time, making friends, all of that is so painfully familiar that I want to weep and smile at the same time.

Clwojick I love it too! It‘s so relatable, and adorable. I need to buy a physical copy. 1y

Of course I had to run out and by the second one as soon as I finished the first one.

Incredible. Same outstanding drawings as the first one, but this time we deal with more of the homophobia, peer pressure, and fear of family rejection. Even though we see Charlie and Nick's relationship grow, this focused more on Nick's self-realization, growth, and coming-out experience. Happy ending, though!
