George Rokesby and Billie Bridgerton have known each other all their lives and can‘t stand each other. Naturally it must be love. I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit.
Ok so this is my first romance book on audio because I always thought it would be kind of weird. I‘m not a huge romance reader, but not because I have anything against them, I just haven‘t found anything to seriously hook me. However....I really am liking this on audiobook so far!!! I may have found just the thing to listen to to encourage me to work out at the gym more!

Heading out on the first work trip of the year. 😭 At least I‘ve got these beauties to keep me company on the flight to Paris. Two more packed and a stocked kindle app for the week.
I‘d rather be home reading with the littles nearby. But I‘ll get started on my #litsyclassics challenge at least with Agnes Grey.
No one does witty banter quite as well as @JuliaQuinn . It was a Bridgerton novel that first made me into a romance reader (Romancing Mister Bridgerton, if you're curious), and all these years later, they are still among my favorite characters to visit. I loved meeting George and Billie and watching their story unfold! #romantsy #romance
I have read a lot of unenthusiastic reviews of this one but I was delighted from page one. There was the perfect blend of Julia Quinn humor and a sweet romance where two people who known each other their entire lives finally truly see each other. Add in the mallet of death and you have a Saturday afternoon happily spent. #romantsy
I don't read a lot of historical romance anymore but when I do I tend to read Julia Quinn. I picked this one up since it was a Goodreads finalist (and I just voted for it!)
I love enemies-to-lovers and this was a sweet read but I could have used more sparks between the two. I'm totally good with slow burn but I wasn't quite sure what truly caused the change of feelings.
"I read a book...I sat in my study and read an entire book from start to finish, and it was quite the most pleasant day in recent memory." -- George Rokesby
Marry him. Now.
The characters were good, but everything just felt too easy. I like that there weren't the typical misunderstandings and unwarranted drama of many romances. However, there needed to be more resistance for them either from events of outside. I wanted the characters to be tested more.
This prequel/spinoff of Quinn‘s Bridgerton series is a compelling frenemies to lovers historical romance. It falls to 1st in Series Syndrome, so there are some plot threads left dangling, but the leads have great banter and the rest of the ensemble has me interested enough to pick up the next book.
3/5 ⭐️ Sweet love story about finding out someone you've known & hated your entire life is an entirely different person than you thought they were. I loved seeing Billie and George discover & fall in love w/each other although it was a little too slow of a burn for my tastes.
(4 stars) Three Thoughts 1) my stars the was a fun one!! Loved the banter between Billie, George, Andrew & the rest 2) loved the slow burn of this - made it feel more real & heart achy 3) was so hard to put this one down & hate having to wait for next in series
2/5⭐️ Disappointing! Neither of the main characters were very likable, and they seemed to be a poor match for each other. I was so excited to find out another Bridgerton book was in the works, but this didn't come close to measuring up to the original series. I hope the next one is much better.
