Yeah no. Unlikeable unfeeling characters, tasteless transitions from serious business like discussing child abduction to having (ofcourse amazing) sex. Glossing over sexual abuse, child abduction. And also the weird reaction of the detective love interest when mentioning giving birth to a child at home. I wasn't into it.

Lily Bard returns to her hometown for the first time in seven years to be in her sister‘s wedding. Her new beau, Jack, coincidentally has a case in the same town, the eight-year-old disappearance of an infant girl. A clue points to three little girls and their parents. Lily gets to reunite with a couple of old friends. It‘s not an easy reunion for anyone but the mystery is solved. If I were casting this as a movie, Jack would be played (cont)⬇️

CatLass007 by Adrian Paul. I do like me some Duncan MacLeod. 10mo

This is definitely a step down from the previous two - it suffers from moving outside of the town of Shakespeare.

Not bad at all but not as enjoyable as the first two.

Still having trouble relating to this main character. I want to like her, but there are details about her personality that are missing. References to habits or peeves that have no context. On to the fourth book of the series to see if we answer any of my nagging questions. #25-2022

Somehow when I read the series, I skipped from book 2 to book 4, and I don't even know how I did it! Still I was excited to have a chance to fix that this December! I still don't love this series, and it hasn't aged well, but I liked the plot and was glad Lily spent some time with her family. #WinterGames @Clwojick @StayCurious #SlayBells #HolidayRead (21pts)

I had yesterday off, but I'm still sick. I felt pretty good until late last night, so a bit of my time actually was from very early this morning. I finished Miss Davenport's Christmas, which was delightful, a read a lot of Ghosts of Christmas Past and a little of Darling Rose Gold. Somehow I missed book 3 in the Lily Bard series by Charlaine Harris, so I was happy to dive in! #24B42020 #WinterGames @Clwojick @StayCurious #SlayBells

Book 3 of the Lily Bard series. I hadn't read any of this series before, but I enjoyed the characters and notes I want to read it. In this book, Lily goes to get hometown right before Christmas. There is murder, a purse thief, and a connection to a years old missing child case. #holidayreads

Lily goes home for her sister's wedding and gets caught up in a missing persons case and several murders. Interesting story and a better look into Lily's past.
