Visiting Sydney. It‘s a perfect day for a harbour cruise so I took a trip on the Manly ferry and treated myself to an ice cream on the Corso. Bliss!

Ehh, this was cute but I‘ve read Heyer novels with much more ingenuity & wit. The characters were great, so the story started out on pretty good footing, but then devolved from there into a very placid sort of love story. The plot hit all the right notes, but at a very tepid temperature. Ultimately a fail for me. ★★☆☆☆.
I am posting one book per day from my extensive collection. No description. No explanation. Some will be old. Some will be new. Don't judge me. I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.

It seems like a good time for another Georgette Heyer. 😁
Note: I had never read this one before and was tickled to find it. But I found very dull and was worried that I didn‘t remember Heyer well. Maybe she was not as lively as I remembered. But I then I started re-reading Powder and Patch and it is as alive and charming as I remember her writing being.
Starting this audio tonight. I‘m looking forward to it, but this cover...🤢

I have submitted my second book to my publisher, so now it‘s time to treat myself (and try not to fret about whether they‘ll like it or not!).
Buffleheaded clunch is officially my new favourite insult.
Finish rereading The Nonesuch for the first time in decades. It is not one of my favorite Heyer novels. Both female love interests were noble and a bit prissy. I much prefer the naughtier Hero Wantage in Friday's Child. I listened to the wonderfully narrated audible version and kindle.
I am reading The Nonesuch. It has been awhile. In the meanwhile, here is a picture of a beautiful cat.
Book the Second in My Year of Georgette Heyer! While The Nonesuch wasn't quite as captivating for me as The Convenient Marriage, the banter was just top notch. And she slayed me with yet another perfect proposal scene, this one just devastating. Onward and upward!

Georgette Heyer is my fave to reread especially when it's too hot to think ☀️☀️☀️☀️
Well we all knew my #authorlove is Georgette Heyer, right? She's written mysteries, historical fiction, regency romances, and nonfiction. Her regencies are the best - like Jane Austen, but funnier. I love her so much I own two copies of almost all of her 60-odd titles; old crappy ones I bought in England years ago, and the pretty reprints they've started issuing in the last few years. ❤❤❤ #17booklove
It all started with my local library and Georgette Heyer. I read all her historical romances and mysteries and then moved on to Mills and Boon romances, from there it was a slippery slope to Harlequins! It's a #uniquefact about me that I will still buy bundles of Harlequins at booksale and , horror , read them.🙁
