It‘s so pretty!
I am DEAD. My book has an amazing cover and I am so incredibly thankful. The artist is Colombian and has done such an exquisite job. He has perfectly captured the essence of the protagonist.

Expected it to be much better than it was.
Fun. Younger readers will love Bronte‘s mad escapades.
This book is bonkers in a fun zany girls school way that involves inter dimensional war and the most bizarre cast of characters you will ever find in fiction. I dare say you will never look at skipping or ants in quite the same way after reading this book. I loved it.
This one really didn't work for me. I managed to finish it but I can't recommend it.
This is a relatively easy to read collection of vignettes about a person's diary keeping. I didn't find it to be the mind blowing volume the blurbs kept assuring me it was but it made me think about time, myself, and mortality which I appreciated.
This was sweet and really poignant. I loved it for its representation of marginalized characters especially those born with disorders that manifest themselves in various ways physically. This book reminds ppl not to impose their preconceived notions abt ppl onto these ppl.
The book is lovely. #middlegrade
I had a lot of fun reading this book except for the part where the MC does not at all sound like a 13 year old. She could have been an adult from her voice. This is marketed as MG and I don‘t see why? The MC could have easily been 16 or even older without any great change to the novel. I will never understand editorial decisions.
This was cute. Nothing startling but just harmless sweet fun.
I have been M.I.A due to reasons, one of which I hope to be able to share soon. But goodness, I have so many books to read it isn't even funny. I started a new job as the Education Coordinator for Vancouver Writers Fest which means I can get away with excusing recreational reading as work reading. Ha. But I am somewhat overwhelmed by the many choices.
This book. Sigh. The setting is beautiful, the writing tho. 1st: plot is contrived. 2nd: offensive how even the most hideous of men seem to have their villainy excused. 3rd: atrocious dialogue.
The accompanying notebook is my the workbook for one of my W.I.P. I do a lot of writing before I start the actual draft.
Hilarity ensues when this little girl realizes the big bed is actually too small...for her dad. She thinks up a creative solution and presents it to her dad only he doesn't seem too thrilled by it. If you are a parent, you are going to need to read this entertaining picturebook.
My name is Arabic for precious and my last name means freedom so I am precious freedom? Hah. One thing that still irritates me though is that I was named by a distant relative and I don‘t know why? My parents aren't too sure either.
Gracious, patient, and kind. Oluo has infinitely more patience than I do and in words that are consistently kind, she takes the reader through a guide to talking about race with people who are willing to listen. This book should be taught in classrooms. With February looming and Black History Month right around the corner, this is a good one to add to your shelves at this time.
