One of my current reads. Loving the blend of herbal wisdom and the insight into the local culture. If you have any interest in herbalism or natural healing, you'll love it too.

I mostly read this one driving back and forth to dog events. Light, easy car reading with a steampunk edge. Fun!

Today was a lounge in bed with the husband, ice cream eating, book reading kind of day, and I finished this off. I'm not sure how to feel about this book. It was beautiful, disturbing, painful. I'll think about this one for awhile. Read it!

Great book, great narrator. I just finished listening to the Audible version while working at my spinning wheel.

CrowCAH Such a neat hobby! 2y
kimdegener Very soothing. I also knit and weave. 2y

kimdegener Don't be afraid. Just do it. You want to look up the park and draft technique to start you off. You should be able to find videos on YouTube. 2y
OffTheBeatenShelf.com If you get a chance to go to the Johnstown Flood Museum, definitely do it! It's really good. :) 2y
kimdegener @OffTheBeatenShelf.com I will. Thanks for the tip! 2y

@MrsV I hate to tell you this, and I'm really embarrassed, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I didn't get your book swap package out on time. I'll get it to you as soon as I can. Sorry for my ineptness, but I'll make it up to you.

MrsV I understand, life does have a habit of getting in the way. 😉 2y
Alicia @kimdegener did you get your bookswap package??? I didn't want to ruin the surprise but I wanted to make sure you received it! ☺️❤️📚 2y
kimdegener @Alicia yes, I did and it was awesome. I was on the road all day yesterday, and the hubby is sick, so I didn't have time to post anything yet. I took pics though. I was especially excited about The Invisible Library. It's already on my nightstand! 2y

I LOVED this book! The audio cast was fabulous, and it was just so beautifully written. I adore Neil Gaiman.

DivineDiana I started to watch the TV adapted series last night and was so disappointed! Too violent for me. 3y
kimdegener @DivineDiana it was violent, I agree 3y
DivineDiana @kimdegener Still plan on trying the book! I am a Neil Gaiman fan! 3y

This is one of my current reads. I'm taking an herbalism class, and this caught my eye. Lots of nutrition out there for the taking. I'm sitting out with the dogs absorbing this.

Jess_Read_This This looks like an amazing read. Definitely stacking this one. 3y
Libby1 Stacked! 😃 2y

I started this series when the first book came out, and enjoyed it. Interesting themes and characters, and enough magic to keep it interesting. I didn't get a pic with the book, so I'll share my scarf hot off the loom, made with my handspun.

DebinHawaii Gorgeous! Love the colors! 💚💙💚 3y
Zelma Beautiful! 💕👍 3y

This book was okay. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Sorry I can't generate more enthusiasm. But it's done, and I'm moving on. My blood pressure is high, and I'm resting with Bella, devouring books and movies, but unfortunately, not pretzels :(

AmyG You saved me some precious time. Thank you. ;) 3y

I'm a fan of alternate histories, and looked on Kindle and in our library system, only to find it at the Salvation Army!

AnnieReads I really liked The Postmistress. 3y
kimdegener I've heard good things about it, so it came home with me to go on the pile. 3y

I really enjoyed this one. Just like all of Patterson's books, it went down fast and easy. If you like seeing good people go through tough times and bounce back, this is the read for you. I tried to get a picture of one of my feline reading partners in the shot, but she was uncooperative, so I posted a sticker of a surrogate kitty with my book.

Does anyone else have books that they fall back on as #comfortreads ? This is a book that I keep coming back to again and again, among several others. There's something here that resonates with me, maybe because I find it cathartic. This is one of my default stress books, along with #Outlander and #TheFarPavillions . I'm currently listening to the #Audible version, which is good. Both narrators do a nice job, letting you sink down into the story.

ApoptyGina69 I really want to read #TheFarPavillions. I think I even have it around here somewhere... thanks for the reminder! 3y
kimdegener It's one of those novels that sweeps you up and carries you away. 3y
Zelma Absolutely! I tend to go back to non-fiction about books as my comfort re-reads. 3y

kimdegener @Zelma I go for absorbing novels always. I get very lost in them and it gives my brain a hiatus from whatever I've been obsessing over. 3y
Joanne1 Oh yes! This book just lets you fall into its world and I loved that. 3y

I'm most of the way through the Audible version, and am really enjoying it. It's a solid combination of history, science, and a fascinating human interest story.

kimdegener @Litlady I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did. The dog in the picture is Kaliegh. She's 3, and we also have our 8yo girl Gin, and our 5mo old boy Bannan. Two little dogs and two cats round out the fur babies. 3y
