The One | Kiera Cass

“The One” by Kiera Cass.

Overall, this series started out very strong. You felt the anticipation and nervousness, each stolen moment counted, and you yearned for more.

Like a romance not to be, this slowly lost its ‘umph‘ and light. It flickered away to boringness, but you stuck with it cause you were there for the long haul.

I enjoyed this series, it was a light and entertaining read.

FEBRUARY UPPERCASE!

Not the best pic, but I‘m super excited about this book. Not only for the content, but the BEAUTIFUL cover! I mean, just look at it!

I have yet to brew my Book Lovers Coffee mostly because I want to preserve it for the rest of my life while also enjoying it, but alas it isn‘t infinite like a book.

The sticker and notepad are amazing additions to the small collection I‘ve been building up from all of these months.

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage The coffee was great! I already brewed it 😁 I love Uppercase! (edited) 6y
brook.llyn @BookHoarder32 I‘m excited to try it! I never expected getting coffee from Uppercase. Never seizes to amaze! 6y

Pickpick

“Obsidian” by Jennifer L. Armentrout was a darkly romantic twist on forbidden love and friendship.

Although predictable, “Obsidian” captivated me from the first page. This steamy sci-fi romance made me fall in love with Daemon, and at the same time made me hate him.

I recommend this book to lovers of YA and romance.

The Elite | Kiera Cass

“The Elite” by Kiera Cass was an amazing second instalment of “The Selection” series.

This book was an absolute page turner, and it left me anxious to buy the third book. It left me on the edge of my seat, making it a thoroughly entertaining series. Although, not nearly as amazing as the first book- it was still good.

I recommend this book to all lovers of YA, romance, fantasy - and of course those who loved “The Selection”.

The Selection | Kiera Cass

Pickpick

“The Selection” by Kiera Cass was a beautiful mix of “The Bachelor” and “The Hunger Games”.

“The Selection” beautifully intertwined romance with friendship, making it a swoon-worthy read that will leave you cheering for the main character “America Singer”. This book had just the right amount of romance, and just the right amount of fantasy.

I recommend this book to all lovers of YA, romance, and fantasy.

Glass Sword | Victoria Aveyard

Pickpick

“Glass Sword” by Victoria Aveyard was an amazing second instalment of the Red Queen series.

Although not as good as the first, Glass Sword did not betray the attachment I had to the story and characters. Glass Sword was a bit more slower going, but still captured the amazing world of Red‘s and Silver‘s.

I recommend this book to those who love fantasy and YA. It further deepens the lesson of “it‘s not what you are, it‘s who you are.”

“Red Queen” by Victoria Aveyard is miles better than what I was expecting.

It was a gift, sitting on my shelf for at least a year. I picked it up three days ago and couldn‘t put it down since.

“Red Queen” is an epic story of love, status, trust, and self reliance. I recommend this to all lovers of YA and fantasy. I cannot wait to begin the next book. It highlights the importance of who you are, and not what you are.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Coco Those dormant books always end up being amazing right?! Haha I do that all the time & im like omg I can‘t believe this awesome story has been sitting so close to me all this time! 6y

"Words on Bathroom Walls" by Julia Walton.

Walton's novel about a schizophrenic 16-year-old named Adam was not my favourite. It was an enjoyable and entertaining read but had a loose plot-line. It's formatting is of Adam writing letters to his therapist and sets over the course of 1 year with Adam taking an experimental drug to help his schizophrenia.

Definitely marketed to a mature young audience.

Are you looking for a book that encompasses geekiness, imagination, and true creativity? Then look no further. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is nothing but immersive and captivating. From the first sentence to the last, Cline keeps readers on the edge of their seats pining to unveil the secrets and easter eggs hidden in this gem of a novel. This has to be the best book I've ever read; hands down my favourite novel. A definite read.

Texreader Quite a rave review. On my tbr list a long time and sitting on my shelf. I'll try to move it up. 7y
OrangeMooseReads I started the audio (narrated by Wil Wheaton) the other day. Haven't gotten to far in but I'm loving it. 7y
brook.llyn @Texreader definitely! My brother and father read this book awhile before I did and they kept pestering me to read it, and I was not disappointed! It truly appealed to me from the consistent pop culture and geek references. It's the most creative and thought out book I think I've ever read. 7y
Reggie Have you seen the trailer for the movie? It looks pretty awesome. 7y
brook.llyn @Reggie yes I have! About 10 times 😅 my brother and I went through an entire breakdown of it, and it looks super awesome. I hope it does the book justice! 7y

I got him the last two books of the series so he has something to do while I'm on my 2 week vacation, and of course I had to start my Sarah J Maas addiction somehow! Cant wait to start reading.

Hey everyone! If you haven't heard of Thrift Books, it's a online book store that has extremely cheap books! I've made 2 big orders from this website and I've been extremely happy with my results.

If you all want a 15% off your first order for Thrift Books type in this link:

Again, I've been super happy with the books, especially for the price.

Happy reading!

"The Probability of Miracles" by Wendy Wunder. This book was very odd, but in a good way.

I'm a Disney kid. I mostly enjoyed this book because of the numerous Disney references, it gave me a point that I can relate to.

Wendy Wunder's book is not my favourite but I thoroughly enjoyed it as I read it.

I recommend this book to anyone who needs motivation in their life, and wants a good entertaining book.

"The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green is a must read YA book.

I first read this breathtaking book while in an airport. I finished it it one sitting from my plane's 12 hour delay. Yes, I did cry in public while reading this book.

During that 12 hour delay, this book taught me how to enjoy life's experiences as if it may be my last.

I recommend this book to all YA readers, and anyone who wants a love story and heartbreaking lesson.

Cinfhen Ugh, for the 12 hr delay!!! But yay on finishing the book 😊 7y
brook.llyn @Cinfhen thank you! That delay was about 2 years ago, and it was the day before a cruise! Agh! Unreliable air travel. But yes!!! Great book. Got many judgemental glares from fellow travellers, but definitely worth it. 7y

"Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" by Jesse Andrews is nothing but straight forward.

It's a very "cut to the chase" book that encompasses humour, death, and happiness.

A definite YA read. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a YA book that would be considered "odd".

"Boo" by Neil Smith. I honestly cannot fabricate any words from any language to describe the feeling this book gave me when I finished it.

The book drove me through a journey of laughter, excitement, and fear. This book, only 310 pages, is bigger than I imagined. Bigger, not in size. In content.

I recommend this book to everyone, because after reading I was shocked that words written on paper could give me such feelings.
