I started this book in October of 2021 and I read the first 2/3 chapters over and over again without continuing it.
Two weeks ago I chose to read it all and I honestly don't regret it at all. I thought it would make me cry, but the most hurting thing in this book wasn't so much described, so I think it's because of that that I managed not to cry.
but it was a really good book!

The book is about a 17 year old girl Hazel who has cancer. She meets a boy named Augustus who used to have cancer also but is now free. They go through a lot together and create a genuine connection but in the end Augustus has some issues…
This book is really good i would recommend it there is never really a dull moment while reading.
This book is written in the first person POV, Hazel is the narrator.

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Gianna, I would have liked more on how the POV is established but otherwise nicely done. 5/6 4mo

You NEED to read this book! This book hits the highs and the lows and you can feel it while reading this book. The way Green puts his ideas into words is amazing, he has just a perfect way with words. It also changed the way I think for the better. I really recommend you read this book.

#ItHadToBeYou #FirstLove
This book reminds me of my own first love - I read it after starting a long distance relationship. He and I both read the book and wrote notes in the margins for the other to see. It made us feel more connected even though we were so far apart. The relationship didn't work out but I still have that copy and it brings back memories when I see it.

So I‘m a little late to this party (like 10 years late)… but I‘m glad I read this even though I‘m not typically a big YA reader. I‘m also currently reading The Anthropocene Reviewed by the same author and loving that one (five stars). ✨

The fault in our stars is about the story of a young girl in her teens named Hazel Lancaster who is suffering from lung cancer. Her mother, who see‘s her daughters loneliness and struggles, convinces Hazel to join a cancer support group. Hazel eventually accepts, while still being reluctant about it. There she meets a young boy named Augustus, the two off them grow a friendship and possible relationship over the shared love of books. Until one (1)

Hazel, desperate to find the answer to a question in that book, sets off with Augustus in search to meet the author for further information. But the more they plan for the trip, the more the cancer catches up to them. It‘s up to the two now to decide their fate with (2) 9mo

The point of view of this novel is first person, and through the perspective of Hazel herself. Hazel tells the story while referring to herself as “I”. We also know the author establishes this because he gives us many thoughts and struggles that are inside (3) 9mo

This was the most beautiful and the saddest story I‘ve ever read! It was the first book that ever made me cry. I still can‘t get over Augustus‘ death. Romeo and Juliet isn‘t the most tragic love story. This is.

I can‘t, this book was so well written I don‘t have any words. This book set me off on a rollercoaster of emotions, first it was a rollercoaster the only went up, until nearing the end when it all went down to hell... (ps. Congratulations if you caught the references, Okay?) 😉
(The fan art isn‘t mine, there were no credits 😔)

Augustus stepped toward him and looked down. “Feel better?” He asked. “No,” Isaac mumbled, his chest heaving. “That‘s the thing about pain,” Augustus said, and then glanced back at me. “It demands to be felt.”

“All salvation is temporary,” Augustus shot back. “I bought them a minute. Maybe that‘s the minute that buys them an hour, which is the hour that buys them a year. No ones gonna buy them forever, Hazel Grace, but my life bought them a minute. And that‘s not nothing.”

“Girls think they‘re only allowed to wear dresses on formal occasions, but I like a woman who says, you know, I‘m going over to see a who is having a nervous breakdown, a boy whose connection to the sense of sight itself is tenuous, and gosh dang it, I am going to wear a dress for him.”
(Ps. I would like to point out the change from ‘Girls‘ to ‘Women‘. John Green really put a lot of thought into this.)

The Fault in Our Stars
Today, I finished the book. The book had lots of connections to the real world. Like the conditions that the main characters and side characters had are real. Many of the reactions and events could happen in the real world. Also there are many places where people go to group chats where they talk to each other (I don't know what it is called)

Bingo! I finished my #doublespin late last night. While I understand why this book made such an impact on so many readers, it was difficult to read as the parent of a teenager. I‘m glad I read it, but it won‘t make any appearances on my favorite book lists. I chose it as The Book Everyone But Me Has Read for the MMD Reading Challenge. 📖

I honestly don‘t know how to rate this book. I had watched the movie before reading the book so it took some of the wow factor away. It was a extremely well written book, with lots of emotions, but I didn‘t connect with it.

6 years ago when I first read this book I gave it 5🌟. Today I give 5🌟 maybe it is a little bit of bias since it was one of the first novels I read but I deeply enjoy this story it made me cry like actual tears something not many books have achieved. The characters were likeable the story was good and moved at a good pace. Six years ago I was shaking after I finished today I am just as in love with it.
