The electrifying next installment in the Red Queen series escalates the struggle between the growing rebel army and the blood-segregated world they've always knownand pits Mare against the darkness that has grown in her soul.Mare Barrow's blood is redthe color of common folkbut her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her into a weapon that the royal court tries to control. The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but as she makes her escape from Maven, the princethe friendwho betrayed her, Mare uncovers something startling: she is not the only one of her kind.Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors. But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat. Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?

🎧 ok ... maybe an unfavorable opinion here but she‘s starting to annoy me LOL JUST A LITTLE!! Still loving the series and Hoopla offered me book 3 when I finished this one so I said YES! Recommended if you like YA ... it‘s sorta easy on the teen angst and romance so .... so far so good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/3

Adventure, strength and change encompass this book from beginning to end. It kept me engaged and interested through out. If you are looking for a good series that reels you in time and time again, here it is :)

It continues exactly from where the first one ends. Many characters get included. Which makes it feel like a mini adventure. This goes on high pace completely.
You should read it because, I guess you can't stop after reading the first.

Loved the first book but this one just didn‘t grip me the same. I think my biggest disappointment is with the main character Mare. I loved her strength, fire and spirit portrayed in Red Queen but in Glass Sword she evolves into a completely different character, a selfish, somewhat darker and impulsive character with a tendency to whine and brood. I‘m a bit on the fence as to whether I want to continue on with this series (photo from Pinterest)

I have heard a lot of conflicting reviews about this book but I think that it shows how dynamic main characters can be and how much people can change when faced with loss and sacrifice.

I can't handle the ending. Seriously! I can't. The ending was so painful with Mare on a leash. I hate Maven more than I hate bitter gourd.

Anyways, can't wait to start King's Cage, so, bye. 😁

I‘m torn between giving this a so-so & a pick. This was the second time I‘ve picked it up because the first time I couldn‘t get through the first few chapters. However, that was how the first book went for me as well. Toward the end I could barely stop listening. It did allow me to get a lot of #audiocleaning done. I will continue with the series to see how it ends, but I‘m in no rush to get to the next one #politicalintrigue #booked2019

Cinfhen Fun choice for this prompt!!! 💕🙌🏻 5mo

Today‘s #colormepretty is #white!

The One I enjoyed, even if it threw in some elements that weren‘t exactly present at the start of the series. Becuase of that, it did feel rushed at some parts. Still, I liked it.

Glass Sword I bailed on after it became both too predictable and too just...dumb. The characters made me angry and the plot seemed to be following the deep rut of every fantasy YA to come before it.

This was our second book for book club... I may he starting a new Book Club, fingers crossed people will actually come! Here is another picture of our new baby Odin.

Much like the first book, I was intrigued with this book and it held my attention. Great fight scenes are expertly written out, without seeming repetitive or boring.

I would recommend this book (after the first) for a young adult, interested in fantasy.

Whew, this was an exhausting read! The plot hurtles along, things go from bad to worse to terrible, and teenage angst levels are off the chart. Teenage me would have probably loved this. Adult me just found the constant drama exhausting!

While I didn‘t enjoy this as much as Red Queen (because I love princess in disguise stories), this story was still really enjoyable and a fast read. For a series, the story arc was neatly resolved, with enough of a cliffhanger to want to pick up the next book. While I‘m eager to see where the story goes in the next installment, I hope it stops veering into romanticizing abusive relationships/abusers.

Again, I‘m so here for this series. This is the second installment of the Red Queen series, and while it wasn‘t as good as the first, what follow up story ever is? It was still very engaging, and it had me up late last night to finish it, making me rush to the library this morning to get the next one before anyone else could. I‘m already panicking about what I‘m going to read once I‘m done with the series— any suggestions?!

TheDrunkenLibrarian The Dorothy Must Die series was really really good!

I really enjoyed Red Queen and although I usually wait to jump into another book from a series I think I‘m too anxious to find out how they “escape” 😅 this will be book number 12 of my year 📚

Caffeinated_Reader Omg sometimes I want to punch Mare in the face and other times I want to hug her but this ending just made me so fucking pissed!!!!!!! What the fuck just happened!?! That is NOT what was supposed to happen. I seriously can‘t believe what‘s gone down. I‘m so mad. And I have to wait for the other two books to be delivered so I just have to sit here...miserable. 😫😫😫 10mo

I enjoyed this book and the ending definitely had me scrambling for the next in the series. Though there was a good amount of action and character development, most of the book felt like it was transitional. Like it was just a long long of small things until a very big ending. I would have liked a little more in the middle. But it was still a great read and I‘d definitely recommend it to others.

This book definitely steps it up from the last one! While Mare pushing herself away from everyone kind of irked me, I LOVED seeing Shade become a more important character. I also really liked Cameron, and her reluctance to join the war. And also the potential for the third book after the ending of this one. Omg. One thing I didn‘t like? How Maven knew who all the new bloods were. Like, he just memorized that whole list?!? Maybe I missed something.

Hm, didn‘t like this one that much, I felt it was 250 pages longer than necessary, romance is lukewarm and Mare is nor likable enough for me to really care. Just read the premise for the third one, and I feel I should just drop the series.
