Starting this one today - got the library book late last night or I would have started sooner. Book group discussion today/tomorrow! 😬

I haven't been reading because I'm in the middle of a big move, but this is my "current read." It's really good and I wish I had the time to devote to it! It's been over a week since I've opened a book.

We are in the middle of moving over state lines and I'm too nervous to read a hardcover (I'm afraid I'll forget the dust jacket since I remove it when I read). Since this book (and book 2 by Nicholas Eames) is the only paperback I have, I'm going to start it. ⚔️

This book is SO GOOD!

xxjenadanxx I can't wait to read it! I'm second in queue for it at my library! 2mo
bg_reads @xxjenadanxx I hope you enjoy it as much as I am! I just love historical fiction and even though it's not entirely true (it's a work of fiction after all), Chinese people in the US were victims of racial injustice as well. It's so good! 2mo

Well, folks, I started BOTM this month and this was my pick! I also made a goal for myself that when I get books through #botm I have to read at least one of those books that month (you can add-on books and buy multiple a month, though I'm sure most of you know that). This month I got 2 and this is one of them! Starting it today. 👒

Took a break from this behemoth of a book (after 28 pages) to finish a NetGalley read. Now I'm hoping to get back to this! It's so big, though, I'm afraid it will take me ages to read it.

This book was fantastic! It was such an interesting perspective on WWII! I love HF and it seems like all historical fiction is revolving around WWII (there have been other wars, authors, come on!). This one centers around pigeon farmers who are infiltrated into the war effort! Did you know homing pigeons were used during the war? I didn't! And I loved that the author used real facts to go with his fictional story!

Today's bookmail! I won the book on the right through Goodreads, and bought Reflecting God through Abebooks.com for $3.99 shipped! I need to get back into reading nonfiction. I have an entire shelf of lovely books that are gathering dust. 💔
Have you read anything by either of these authors?

The end to a busy week/weekend brought on amazing bookmail today! Have you read either of these? I won The Perfect Wife by JP Delaney through a Goodreads giveaway and Sue Monk Kidd's The Invention of Wings was a purchase for an Instagram book club!
Also, my dented water bottle. 😰

I figured the best way to follow up a GREAT read #WARBREAKER by Brandon Sanderson - was to pick a completely different genre. Haha! The book after the 5⭐ read is always a fail because nothing can follow that up! I'm enjoying this so far. It's shorter and a dual POV story. It's rather sweet!

Books & book sales make me so happy.
Finding a new-to-me author: game, set, match.
Brandon Sanderson might be an author I just HAVE to buy. You know, they come out with a new book, and it doesn't even matter what it's about, you just know it's going to be good and you just need to buy it.
STEELHEART was only $8 on Amazon (hardcover) and I just couldn't withstand it anymore. I don't regret buying it.

Whet a book! I think I enjoyed it! One character battles depression quite extensively and at the risk of sounding unsympathetic, it was overdone. I got so tired of his whiney mentality and his "woe is me's". Rather than fixing the problem, he wallowed! Other than that, I really liked this one!

ErinC This is one of my favorite YA books of all time! 4mo
bg_reads @ErinC it was great! I really enjoyed the writing style and totally ugly cried about Travis. He was my favorite character! 💔 4mo

Oh mylanta! Could Dill be more of a whiner? I don't think so! He's wallowing in self pity and just doesn't want (refuses, rather) to get himself out of it. Ugh!
*Chucks book at wall*

RaimeyGallant Been there. 4mo
bg_reads @RaimeyGallant I mean, I get it to an extent: he wants to respect his mother but he's drowning. If he decides to not pull himself out of the situation then he needs to buck up and stop complaining. Ya know?? Oi! Anyway.. #rantover 🙄 For now, at least. 4mo

I had to take a break from this guy to get through 2 #netgalley ARCs that published late last month, but now I'm back to focusing on my other CRs. Maybe it's because I stopped reading it for a time and came back, but this one just isn't capturing my attention like the first 2.
I've had a lot of people tell me that book 3 is the best of the series, but I'm not seeing it so far.

What a wild ride! At first I thought this book was a little slow and I wasn't connecting with the characters or the circumstances and dialogue, but at about 30% it really got rolling! Switching back and forth from present to past, the author really gives a great, round depiction of the father and why he goes through such lengths to find his son in war-torn France.
