Five Feet Apart
Five Feet Apart | Rachael Lippincott
Soon to be a major motion picture in March 2019! In this moving story thats perfect for fans of John Greens The Fault in Our Stars, two teens fall in love with just one minor complicationthey cant get within five feet of each other without risking their lives. Can you love someone you can never touch? Stella Grant likes to be in controleven though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions. The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldnt care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon, hell turn eighteen and then hell be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals. Wills exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesnt feel like safety. It feels like punishment. What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?

5✨ I absolutely loved this book. It has been a high anticipated read for me that I never took the time to read. I am so glad I finally got to read it. We spend the majority of the time I the hospital with 3 cystic fibrosis patients that cannot be less than 6 feet apart. Stella and Poe have been friends since her first visit to the hospital, but they meet new rebel Will who changes their lives forever.

persephone1408 I absolutely adore this book and movie... Never have I seen a movie so exactly like the book. 3mo

I started reading this book the other day. Five feet apart is a book but it is also a movie. I have seen the movie so many times it‘s one of my favourites. I am very curious to see the differences and similarities between the book and the movie. I can‘t wait to compare and see which one I like better. Since I liked the movie, I‘m hoping I will like the book.

I honestly don‘t know what to say. I don‘t think I will recover from this book anytime soon but I‘m not mad about it, it deserves that. I did not follow my friend‘s advice from when I started reading: “Don‘t get too attached.” But it was already too late and so, as one might expect, I cried. A lot.
(I also read the ending right before class and had to keep in my tears for an hour!)

I stare at the video in total admiration.
“Cystic fibrosis will steal no more from me. From now on, I am the thief.”

★★★★☆

Five Feet Apart was a romantic and truly poignant young adult novel. I did find that the plot moved somewhat slowly at times throughout the book and that it speaks up on some rather sensitive topics, but aside from that I think that it would appeal to those interested in reading Realistic Fiction or just genuinely heartwarming novels.

I personally feel like the book takes awhile to actually get into a good story flow. I‘m still a little twisted on why Stella doesn‘t bring up her sister passing away to Will until he figures it out himself. Other then that the book is a pretty good pick, but I would definitely choose something different next time. @MrsBabki

Reign_1982 @AkashaVampie I started watching it and turned it off. I'm not feeling the actors. But I might try again tomorrow. It seems a bit rushed compared to the book. The beginning of the movie is parts from the end of the book. Dylan Sprouse as Will, and then Poe. Um. Idk. 13mo

Reign_1982 @AkashaVampie oh.. I think Everytime I see Dylan I can't get Zack and Cody from Disney out my mind. Lol. But out of the three characters. I like Will's the best. I really think they dropped the ball on Poe. If you get time grab the book or audiobook. They're on Libby. 13mo

Stella, battling cystic fibrosis meets a guy, battling the same thing. The problem is that when two patients meet, they have to stay six feet apart to keep them from getting the others bacteria.

It‘s a cute read, if you disregard the breaking of rules to maintain a six foot distance.

Five feet apart by Rachel Lippincott.
I was determined to read this book before I saw the movie, so I sat up half the night reading this book. I read it in one night, it isn't very thick. I loved this book! Also, if you've both read & seen this, you also know this movie is the closest to the book as I've ever seen before. Its pretty much exactly the same! ❤💙

This was one of the best books I‘ve read in a long time, but why the pain!?!?! I was crying on the floor after I finished, it was just so much sadness. I rate this book 100000/10 because the characters were so lovable that it was painful to say goodbye to some of them. Especially Will, he was brave and kind and will not soon be forgotten. This story will stay with me for a long time, and I‘m glad for that.

this story is about two young teenagers who suffer from cystic fibrosis and who attempt to fall in love while being forced to stay 5 feet apart. the point of view of this book is first person and the motif is love, life and death because they want to love before it‘s to late so they sacrifice the restrictions of staying the length away from eachtoher.i would rate it a 9/10 because it reminded me of fault in our stars which is my favourite book :)

MissYaremcio Ahh! I want to read this book so badly! It somewhat reminds me of our current issue with isolation! 6/6 2y

Sweet and sad YA story about two teenagers with Cystic Fibrosis in hospital. Very Poignant, makes you consider what being 'alive' actually means for different people. Will like if you enjoyed books like Fault in our stars.

This book was amazing! Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott is a fantastic realistic fiction about seventeen-year-old Stella Grant and Will who both have cystic fibrosis (CF). The two meet in a hospital and are not allowed to touch because of their disease. You get to read about how their relationship grows and the struggles they go through. The chapters switch between Stellas and Wills perspectives. I would definitely recommend giving it a read.

I am currently on page 150 (just over half way) of Five Feet Apart. So far I am loving this book! The style of writing is great and I love that you get to read the story from the two characters perspectives. The book is also great because has lots of medical information in it so I get to enjoy reading the book as well as learn some new things (but it isn‘t too much so I still understand what is being talked about in the book).

Five feet Apart was an amazing book it was definitely a book to cry over. The one thing I would change is the ending. It was a very sad ending and I think I would prefer if it ended with The girl Stella and Will together, instead of seeing each other for a moment at an airport. Besides that it was such a good book, with all the plot twists and adorable moments between Will and Stella. I give it a 10/10
