Fittingly, I finished this audiobook on a very very long #audiowalk of my own! It was just as good as I remembered.

Though if I listen to The Running Man at some point I do not plan on running.

I went for an initially rainy but ultimately really beautiful #audiowalk today with one of my favorite Stephen King books. (My walk was much more peaceful than the Long Walkers')

I think I watch too much Frasier because this just reads like a Maris joke to me. 🙃
(Also, is she medically okay? That seems really low, especially for a child.)

So it could easily be that I'm more sensitive to this because I've been reading more fantasy/sci-fi/not-contemporary-realism things lately, but I'm 41 pages in and I feel like there's a jarring amount of name/brand-dropping in this book. I know it's unnatural to have no brands mentioned at all (like a Food Network show saying Marshmallow Crispy Rice Squares), but to me the balance is noticeably off. There were other examples, but this is a 2-for-1

julesG A name here and there is okay, but this is a bit OTT. 4mo
Quellek I few pages later and you get the sentence, "I pop the cap off a Sam Adams, reach for my MacBook, and sit down on my futon." This is getting better/worse! 4mo
Quellek "She takes out two bottles of Perrier and offers me one." ... "The glass bottle is comfortably substantial, and I'm surprised by how good the crisp, bubbly liquid tastes." ? 4mo

I'm not sure why this book didn't really click with me, because I've seen lots of rave reviews. The setting was beautifully described (it was perfect for some cold wintry #audiowalking), but the story itself felt a little thin and un-mysterious to me. I was a bit underwhelmed by the investigation and was not expecting the romance at all. Still, it was a nice and short palate-cleanser to listen to between longer books. I'm going with a 3.3/5 :)

Having some quiet reading time with this poor sick boy. Tagged book is really engaging and creepy so far! I'm sad to have missed out on this 24in48, but I'll try to do the summer one.

Almost to the end of this one now! It's been perfect for lots of #audiowalk -ing in the snowy weather. (I'm turning into a real audiobook addict!)

Enjoying an #audiowalk on this unbelievably gorgeous day! Shorts and t-shirt weather with beautiful fall colors and a creepy book make for the ideal October day.

Finally finished my reread/listen of Morning Star! I'll be ready to read Iron Gold soon, although I'll probably start something from the huge pile of spooky books I just got in the #audible sale first.

I usually listen to an audiobook in bed, but last night I ended up listening for more than an hour to get through a sad thing I knew was coming. Made myself cry and then couldn't get to sleep! #justonemorechapter

Finished my reread/listen of Golden Son today on a beautiful evening #audiowalk, and OUCH, MY HEART. I KNEW IT WAS COMING BUT OUCH.

Also, I haven't been on Litsy in a long time, so hello again!

I just realized that it's practically September and if I want to read this before the movie comes out I better get cracking! Niles is already spooked.

Also (part 2) - I figured out the sticker problem. I hadn't updated my Litsy app because my phone storage was full of pet pictures and videos. (But look at these guys!)

Also, this happened yesterday! This year I set a more reasonable goal (to beat my best total by one) and blasting through Saga helped a lot. (Maybe this will be the year that I actually break 100? That's been my goal the last few years - I've never actually reached it.)

Okay, Wheel of Time is still happening, but I couldn't resist the eclipse mood any longer. I've read this twice but never listened to the audio, so I'm excited!

(I would have put one of those yellow book guys with headphones on here, but I don't have/can't find those stickers? I have an older Android phone.)

Finished Final Girls (the dialogue was a bit clunky sometimes and I found the ending to be a bit of a stretch, but it was very hard to put down!) and now I think I'll dive back into Wheel of Time for awhile.

My new Wheel of Time strategy is alternating The Eye of the World with other, shorter things I'd like to read. So now's the time to try to catch up on #botm!

I had a stopwatch issue while audiocooking (it's been resetting while paused but who gave it permission to reset while it's still running?) but I think I can math something with my audible listening time and fix it. It won't be exact, though. :/

I'm barely into my (early start) #24in48 and I've finished one book! It helps that it was a reread and I was almost done with it already. I don't know if I'll be able to make it through the whole series again before the movie, but it's nice to revisit this world (these worlds?).

So, I think I'm more than prepared for the #24in48 readathon. (This doesn't even include audiobooks!) I know I won't finish everything, but it's nice to have options. I'm actually going to be starting a few hours early, because I work tomorrow. I think it'll even out. :)

Overdue #readathon update - I finished Monsters of Men (which was GREAT) and I've listened to more of The Circle. Then I got a little sidetracked taking videos of the rain and the dogs and deciding what to watch while we ate. (But I hadn't seen On Golden Pond before!) So now I'm pairing a little Stephen with some iced coffee and trying not to feel like a readathon failure.

I just now signed up for #deweys24hourreadathon (which starts in 7 hours). I think there will definitely be some sleeping tomorrow but I'll do my best. I get to start by reading the last 15% or so of Monsters of Men, so I'll feel like I've really made progress.

So - I accidentally took a bit of a long nap. At this point I could read straight through to midnight and not *quite* make it. However, I'm going to keep at it to see how far I can get (and if I finish before 9 am Monday it's still technically within 48 hours of when I started, which satisfies me.) #24in48
