This book was amazing!! I was so nervous about the Nordic noir prompt from PopSugar, but this book was perfect. It reminded me so much of Tana French. I placed a hold on the second of the series and I can‘t wait!

So cute! This book was a great read. I can't wait to start recommending it to my mystery loving kiddos at work. Tabitha is so clever and just with-it for a 12 year old. I adored how she solved the nasty goings-on, and especially how things wrapped up at the end. #scasl #scstateaward #childrenslit

"Too right, Sir Penny," Tabitha said. "I adore when you bring up a Pensive maxim: 'When hope has left your side, carry on with the assumption that it simply went to fetch a quick bite to eat and will return shortly.'" She nodded to her partner. "Quite appropriate, sir." #scstateaward #scasl

I don't quite know what to say about this. French's writing is so, so good and incredibly addictive. I obsessed over it for the last five hours of the audio. However... I like closure. I know life isn't always tied up in neat packages, but none, and I mean NOT A SINGLE ONE of the various strings gets tied up. My heart is aching for Katie, for Adam, and for Rob. Ugh. #mystery

Bailedbailed

I bailed. I tried, and got about 25% of the way in. Parts I enjoyed, but not enough to finish this time around. #litsybookclub @litsybookclub

tpixie It's a tough one to finish. Only for Bookclub!! 7y
Mrs.AntonacciReads @tpixie Maybe another time for me. I didn't hate it, but I had other reads going on that were way more alluring than this. 7y
tpixie @Mrs.AntonacciReads we voted on many good ones for next month. Hopefully a good one wins!! Keep an eye out and check out. 7y
Mrs.AntonacciReads @tpixie I voted. I liked lots of the titles on the list, so I'm anxious for the results. 7y

I listened to the audio of this and quickly became obsessive over finishing. I don't normally read or like mystery/suspense, but I loved every minute of this. The plot certainly keeps you guessing and the rotating narrators who are occasionally unreliable are great. Definitely a pick for me. #adultlit

Such a cute book!! Quick, easy read. The narrators switch between four 12-yo girls, so sometimes the story is a little simplistic, but overall, I enjoyed this. Can't wait for the second one!! #yalit #chicklit

Finished this in two sittings. I loved the story. Bell does a great job of explaining how she felt and thought through her journey with hearing loss, and I think it's 100% accessible for students of any age. One of my new favorites! #eldeafo #elementarylibrarian #childrenslit

"Everytime Gat said these things, so casual and truthful, so obvious - my veins opened. My wrists split. I bled down my palms[...] I'd stagger from the table or collapse in quite shameful agony, hoping no one in the family would notice... Gat almost always saw, though [...] He wrapped my wrists in a soft white gauze and asked me questions about what happened... as if talking about something could make it better. As if wounds needed attention."
