So, I am currently listening to "In A Sunburned Country" by Bill Bryson and loving it, but I have some questions ... Like why Australia has a snail that can kill a human?...

I have complicated feelings about this book. To be honest, I almost gave up a quarter of the way through. Personally, I HATED the main character Faye at the start; she was bitter, immature, narcassistic, and incredibly selfish. However, the narrative did pick up at the halfway mark, and I found myself enjoying the idyllic Australian setting as well as the relationship between Faye and Dan.

Ahhhh! After a second reading, A Man Called Ove remains one of my favourites books to date. I would be hard-pressed to name something about this novel that I didn't love. I laughed, I cried, and over the course of the story, I become strangely attached to a grumpy old man named Ove #audiobook

I am super sick with a cold today, so I felt it was the perfect time to set up my brand new Kindle Fire ... I love it so far 💜💚💙💛

I had forgotten just how gorgeous this book was. While it's true that the story can be bogged down with descriptions in some parts and the second half of the novel feels rushed through, the overall story is an adventure that is worth reading until the end; the detailed imagery transports the reader into the Italian Alps, and later the USA. The experience becomes even more exquisite if you choose to listen to the audiobook while you read, as I did

Honestly, how could I possibly dislike this book? Apart from the douchey boyfriend, Ryan, I fell in love with the story's characters and plot immediately. In fact, Dodie reminded me a bit of myself in that she had been through hell with depression and anxiety; forcing her to drop formal education. A feeling that I know all too well 📚
