Wonderful!!! Memoir told through books read. Beautiful writing. Connected with the author so much!!!!

Wow! Loved this, even though I figured it out about a third of the way through. But there was so much to this story that is was fun to watch it all click into place. Brilliant.

Unbelievably good. Should be required reading

This was between a so-so and a pick for me. Pretty fun romp with a group of characters headed back to town to finish a case that drove them away. Fairly decent twist at the end. Fun nostalgic references. Tim, the dog, was my favorite. It just could have been edited better.

Yay for Iowa authors!!!! This is an excellent mystery/thriller. A tragic accident leaves nurse Amelia deaf. Depression and drinking estrange her from her husband and step-daughter. When she discovers the body of a woman who used to be a good friend, Amelia stops at nothing to find the killer. But who is trying to stop Amelia? This is a great page turner!!!

So so sooooo good! This was recommended to me by a friend at work. It's quirky, profane, and extremely thought provoking. And fun. AND, one of the best endings I've ever read!

I'm on a non-fiction kick. This book is amazing!!!!! If you have even a quiet interest in how the universe works, this is worth reading!

An absolutely beautiful book. I'll never think of sea creatures the same way again. A must read.

I saw the movie years ago. Read the book for book club. I loved it. I love foodie books and this one makes me crave Indian food!

I was in a reading slump, but thanks to an article on Book Riot, I picked this one up and it's all I want to talk about! And the plural of octopus is octopodes or octopuses. It's wonderful so far!

I LOVE this graphic novel series! Hardcore lady-lady types, shenanigans, and in this installment, selkies!!!!

I loved this trilogy! This is the third in The Summer Girls trilogy. Takes place in the low country of South Carolina, and follows Mamaw and her three grand daughters during one summer. Wonderful characters.

I remember loving this one in high school. I went through an Ira Levin phase. A classic dystopian novel that just doesn't quite hold up in the 31st century.

Oh wow, I REALLY liked this, even more than Girl on the Train. It took a little time to get all the characters straight, but this was great storytelling. Definitely recommend!

Anyone else reading or read? I'm really liking so far. I've seen lots of mixed reviews, but I'm finding this more engaging than "Girl" so far.

I really liked it up until the ending, which was just too convenient and a little weird. Still enjoyed for the most part.

This the All Iowa Reads for this year. Just discussed at book club tonight. The story of a German family living in rural Iowa post WWI. Two youngest daughters disappear. Story told from the perspectives of 5 family members. Excellent writing but just a heavy and fairly unhappy story.

I am a sucker for a good witch story, and this one definitely is a winner! Salem history, witches, and a murder mystery make for a fun page turner!

Excellent YA. I don't think I'd call it a straight mystery. Definitely coming of age novel. A story of two best friends and the summer when one is abducted. Excellent portrayal of friendship, loneliness, and that vague longing of teenage girls.

I want to go to Salem.

It was good. A bit predictable, but I liked the back and forth between the "girls." Would love to see a mock up of One Folgate.

I found this on the book cart at work just now and read it. Goosebumps!!!! Rowling' commencement speech at Harvard in 2008. A tiny volume of infinite wisdom.

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!! Why did I wait so long to read this incredible book????? Amazing. I feel like I walked every step with her.

This one is going to stick with me for awhile. VERY good. Thought provoking. It's also a wonderful homage to Iowa, my adopted state.

Finished this a few days ago, in my quest to reread the entire series. Fascinating to read as an adult. I don't remember the racism against Indians. I do remember that it was not my favorite of the series.

Reading this one for my book club. I also have a copy of Huckleberry Finn that I'm skimming. Coincidentally, I am at the same point in both books! Think I may read both, back and forth, and get the perspective of both Huck and his father, as I travel through this corner of Mississippi River life!

After reading the wonderful NY Times article about Laura, I decided to reread The Little House books. It's been years. And this one is as good as I remembered.

This was such an interesting novel! A little chasing, some bad guys, getting lost in the multiverse, and some love story all packed into a great sci-fi adventure!

What a beautiful novel. Beautiful language. I felt I was in northern Minnesota, walking side by side with Linda, experiencing her loneliness and her longing to be wanted.

Just started this one. Northern Minnesota, atmospheric, and moody teenager. Should be fabulous!

I checked this out of the library, but after reading it, I had to order a copy! This is a great cookbook!!!!
