EadieB @JulesG I looked this book up on Goodreads. It seems to be about a made up world and a reviewer said that the author took too much time making up the world but not enough time on the story. Sci-fi is not my genre. Good for you to give it a try! Great first day for readathon! 3y

julesG @EadieB I've read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews. I knew I'd be buying something that might be an optical illusion: nice cover and interior + no substance. At 10 pages in, I'm annoyed with the names and invented words. And I can't yet say whether it's sci-fi or fantasy. 3y

EadieB @julesG Start with Ann Cleeves as she is very good at the craft of mystery and her books are hard to figure out.

I finished #theoctunnumi (which I loved) and now this is my current read. I‘m currently taking an Art History course in my Graphic Design program, and this book was quoted several times in my textbook, so I just had to find it.

Has anyone here read Octunnumi? I can‘t find it in the search cache. I bought this simply because it was so striking and so intriguing. The aligned website is gorgeous and even the packaging was a treat. I haven‘t dared to read because I‘m afraid of marring its beauty!!

Palimpsest I saw this recently on an Instagram post and was initially intrigued by the name and typeface, but I couldn‘t even find out what it is about. 🤷‍♀️ I felt the Goodreads description was sort of vague. Still intrigued by whatever fantasy this is. 3y
