Well, that was...a thing 😂 Read this one out of sheer nostalgia. And it pretty much lived up to my expectations. I just wonder how much children actually enjoy this series.

This was my #readerschoice for the #BBRC #birthandbeyondreadingchallenge.

Before Long John Silver was long, he was Short John Silver. Here‘s one of his adventures. Fast-moving and full of silly puns and bad jokes. Loved the seven seas he had to sail across (the Sea of Stories and the Sea of Colours in particular were fab). Marks knocked off for the peg leg nicknames (I know it‘s a pirate book, but still - perfectly funny without them.)

BookwormAHN That looks like a fun read 😸 1mo

#MiddleGradeMadeEasy #ReadersChoice #BBRC .

An autobiography, covering the author‘s childhood, growing up between wartime Britain, & India, through independence & partition. I found this a really good read! She never talks down to her readers, whether explaining Indian politics, describing the shock of wartime England, or telling of the loss of her baby brother. I imagine it‘d be quite challenging for young readers, but fascinating nonetheless.

BookwormAHN Sounds interesting 1mo

My kids love these books so I thought I give one a read for #scarathlon (go #teamslaughter) and #bbrc. 7 pts : directly related to Halloween AND team theme. #scaryscavengerhunt :pumpkin on cover and part of a series. #bbrc #middlegrade #readerschoice

Clwojick For the point system, we‘re doing an either or kinda thing. Halloween, or team theme. But obviously the higher of the two. So 5 points for Halloween, but 1 point for participation as well! So this is marked down as 6 points ♥️ 1mo
Sarahreadstoomuch Perfect! Thanks for clarifying. @Clwojick (edited) 1mo

How I‘ve missed Amelia Bedelia Stories! Amelia Bedelia helps out at a local school by being the head editor for a day. What could possibly go wrong?? It‘s funny! I‘d love to know Amelia - she may not have the best common sense, but she is also such a sweet person. #readerschoice #BBRC #ER

Lcsmcat I loved Amelia Bedelia when I was a kid! 2mo
SassyBookworm I absolutely loved Amelia Bedelia when I was a kid! Such cute stories! 2mo

This took longer than I expected to get into... Bri drove me nuts. But I loved her banter, her friends, and all the different relationships in her life, and how she navigated those while learning how to trust herself. #bbrc #teenangst #readerschoice

This is the summer reading book for Maya‘s middle school, and what an excellent choice! I‘m currently reading another book about the importance of resilience and grit, both of which William has in spades! A powerful story about never giving up and thinking creatively...even when people think you‘re crazy.

#nonfiction2019 - this could fit 3 prompts: uplifting, from another country or survival; I‘ll pick which one later.

Just finished this on my kindle for #BBRC #teenangst #readerschoice I‘ve had this on my tbr for a while now and was just in the mind frame to read it 📖😋 so another one done for the challenge @LibrarianRyan

LorieL People keep recommending this book to me but some of her stuff feels over written and slow to me. What did you think of this one? 4mo
LibrarianRyan 😁❤️❤️. It‘s on my TBR as well 4mo
Ddzmini @LorieL and @LibrarianRyan there where parts that had some slowness to them but overall a good read 🙌🏽📖😋 4mo
pythoness Honestly, this whole series is fantastic, and I should reread it soon. It‘s one of those rare things where it just gets better with each book? My fiancée has apparently read it approximately (non-hyperbolically) 12 times—I just asked. ? 3mo
Ddzmini @pythoness thank you I‘ll enjoy reading the next book and I love a series the you can read over and over again 🙌🏽📖😋 3mo
