Lafayette! (Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales #8)
Lafayette! (Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales #8): A Revolutionary War Tale | Nathan Hale
6 posts | 3 read | 4 to read
Nathan Hale brings readers back to the world of the American Revolution for the first time since One Dead Spybut this time, hes following the Marquis de Lafayette into battle. An orphan who became a French nobleman, Lafayette was a major figure in the American Revolution who fought alongside iconic figures like George Washington and Alexander Hamilton. Fans of the musical Hamilton will instantly recognize Lafayettes name, but theres so much more to his story. With Nathan Hales trademark graphic illustrations, Lafayette! shares what happened before and during the war, including all the wild escapades the Frenchman embarked on across France and the colonies. Both gruesome and hilarious, Lafayette! takes you on a roaring journey and will have even the most reluctant reader excited about the American history.

Daring feats, military tactics, and naked cupid babies! What more could you ask for in this incredible volume about the Marquis de Lafayette, who helped foil sabotage efforts on the part of the French and English during the American Revolution? Oh yes, projectile vomiting. 🤢

🎶 At Yorktown, the British could not retreat🎶
🎵 Bottled up by Washington and the French fleet🎵
🎶 Cornwallis surrendered and, finally, we had won!🎶

Schoolhouse Rock taught me all I needed to know about the Revolutionary War. Nathan Hale taught me about Lafayette, which Schoolhouse Rock didn't include too much of. 😍

ValerieAndBooks Okay, I‘m going to have to check this out! Is that the author‘s real name 😂?! 5y
IamIamIam @ValerieAndBooks It is his real name!!! Lol, they're really wonderful and funny, but packed with information I definitely don't remember about history!!! The Hangman is the best part of the books! 5y
readingjedi See, I read the title and was immediately "I'm taking this horse by the reins, making redcoats redder with blood stains." 5y
IamIamIam @readingjedi Haha, I'm old school, not hip and happening so I went with Schoolhouse Rock instead of Hamilton! 😂😂😂 5y

Lafayette was so weirdly endearing, so ambitious but also modest. I dunno. It's weird I've never heard of the guy considering how big a role he played in the revolution.

These graphic novels are so great though, very accessible and entertaining for kiddos that don't really read.

CoffeeK8 My son loves these books! 5y

Out in October! My son would be super excited if he knew but...he doesn‘t. I think I‘ll surprise him with it when it is published. He loves this series of humorous, graphic novel retellings of historical events. Ever time he reads one, he spends the next couple of days spitting out all the facts he learned.

Readingismyescape These are great!! 6y
