Each character's story is interesting and well-paced, with a satisfying conclusion. I almost felt overwhelmed by so many things happening at once but it felt balanced enough to keep me going. I'm always so cautious when I pick up a romance because I HATE when the inevitable breakup happens because two adults lack basic communication skills. So I went into this carefully but was pleasantly surprised at how this unfolded. It had a great cast of characters, really put me in the Christmas mood, and I loved the little tongue-in-cheek references to living in a Hallmark movie.

A fun, funny read, though my main critique was that it read less like a book than a “Gilmore Girls“ screenplay. Probably a plus for some readers!

Another Bingo card filled! This is the one I had to redo, and it worked out pretty well. 😁

The book is a soft pick for me. The main characters both have some growing to do and have good personal arcs with their romance. But I was turned off by the constant fourth-wall breaking. “Oh this is just like a romance.“ “Oh, this is just like a Hallmark Christmas movie.“ I'm happier with the lampshade off!

This was absolutely lovely! It's exactly what I want in a Christmas novella that isn't romance focused. Warm and cozy, I honestly wish I could have wrapped myself in the quilt the characters come together to make.

I give this HEA props for being a story with a Christmas cover and setting maintaining a holiday spirit for its entirety. Not all holiday touted romance succeed to that end. The meet-cute was funny while the subsequent drama (monetary need to upkeep an old English estate) could have been sharper. But overall, the story of a one-and-done child actress of a holiday classic now all grown-up and hating all things seasonal was a fun read.

I didn't do a daily update, as I was dealing with a sinus infection most of this long weekend, but it did provide me with the perfect excuse to laze about and read, and thus helped me finish this #20in4 #readathon. I read for around 20 hours and finished this stack, plus started two others. Some of my favorite Christmas reads to help me feel better. 🎄 📚 💕

I DNF‘d this at 56%, but somehow kept thinking about it and decided to pick it up again. So glad I did, because I ended up liking it.
