#wanderingthroughwutheringheights #chapter33 #pembeelittens Cathy and Hareton continue to get closer. Hareton actually makes Cathy think about her actions. H has his revenge. He has gotten both E and Hindley‘s inheritance but he is force to look at Cathy and Hareton each day. All he see in C in their faces and feels a “change”. I think this change is guilt, sadness, and depression as his life‘s goal is complete and it was so pointless.

Crinoline_Laphroaig So pointless. 2y

QOTD: Why do you think Cathy changed her treatment of Hareton? Bored? Realized she could gain power? I sincerely doubt she actually changed her feelings. Thoughts?

One More Chapter!

BarkingMadRead I legit finished today, just one more chapter and I couldn‘t resist. I think Cathy was bored and then found out he was actually decent when he was away from Heathcliff! 2y

MicrobeMom I think she realized it will be a lonely life without a friend. 2y
DivineDiana Cathy had a good heart, and Nelly encouraged her to be kind to Hareton. She sensed that he would be an ally. (edited) 2y
ElizaMarie @MicrobeMom That's what I was thinking. 2y
EclecticBookLover The cynical part of me says it was she realized she could have power. But, as others have pointed out I think it could be due to loneliness. Overall, I did like Cathy despite her spoiled nature. 2y
nanuska_153 I agree with @BarkingMadRun I think she realised that she couldn't live that way forever, also probably Nelly's presence in the house helped her feeling that she didn't need to be all the time ready to attack everybody because she was no longer surrounded solely by enemies; once she started being nice to Hareton she realised she liked him. Also maybe she couldn't accept that he didn't like her anymore and felt compelled to make herself likeable 2y

#pemberlittens #chapteraday #chapter33 Colonel Fitzwilliam is such a pure character. He has all good intentions and has no idea what he has just done 😂. Upon innocently sharing Darcy‘s intervention on Bingley‘s love life, he‘s now walking beside a grenade. Lizzy is trying her best not to explode until Darcy is the target.
