When Katie Met Cassidy | Camille Perri
post image

The lyrics for #ringofkeys made me think of this book. The swagger that the singer talks about just brought to mind Cassidy, in her power suits, with her devil may care attitude. I loved her character so much that I fell for this story book, line, and sinker. #musicalnewyear

vivastory I've heard good things about this one 5y
Cinfhen Did this feel YA to you??? The title and cover gives me major YA vibes 🤷‍♀️ 5y
Reviewsbylola Not really. You know how I feel about YA. 😆 @Cinfhen 5y
Cinfhen Yup #NoYA 5y

Mehso-so

It gets a so-so because it‘s just The Man in the High Castle but YA and set in England if the Nazis had won the war. It‘s probably a great read if you haven‘t read the previously mentioned book.
I fit another read in July 😁

KristinaRay Good to know. Thanks. 6y
2BR02B I hate when YA books recycle concepts from adult novels. Lame. 👎 6y
Cinfhen Umm, I‘ll pass #NoYA 🙄 6y

I was #audiocleaning today and came across this reading wish list. Dated 2004. In the ensuing 14 years, I‘ve only read 10 of the 24 books listed. And that, my friends, is why I‘ll never finish my TBR.

#readingwishlist #blastfromthepast

Smangela Preach! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa And that my friend, is why Litsy is our tribe! 🤜🤛. But seriously, read Harry Potter already! 😂 6y
PenguinInFlight I don‘t think I would know what to do with myself if I finished my TBR, LOL. 6y

AmyG Harry Potter! I wish I could read it for the first time...again. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Yes, we are a tribe of the same stripes. I read the first HP a couple of years ago. It‘s cute but not really my jam. I‘m a #noYA reader. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BarbaraTheBibliophage The first 2 or 3 are really YA, but the story gets older and more complex as they age through the school years. That in itself is so rare to see in writing. Characters who literally grow through the series, and their comprehension of the story going around them deepens as the grow up. 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BarbaraTheBibliophage But hey, at least you tried it, that‘s at least a check off the to read list. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @PenguinInFlight Haha. True. I‘d go to a bookstore or a library! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘ve heard that ... it is unique! 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa But seriously, check it off, it‘s not on your to read list anymore.👍 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Yeah, it‘s not on my TBR despite not having read every word. Good point! 6y
ForCuriosity I made one of those this year, I doubt I‘ll be able to finish them all as well 6y
merelybookish Fun to see what you was on your mind in 2004. I feel my TBR shifts. I just lose interest in reading some books/genres. Nevertheless, the TBR continues to grow. 🤷 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @merelybookish I agree. My reading taste has expanded, yet some of these are still favorites. I just rediscovered Sujata Massey—want to read her new one and catch up on the series I was reading in ‘04. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Paintinthenight I think half the fun is the planning, even knowing I won‘t read it all. 6y
Andrew65 I really enjoyed 6y
Mdargusch Wow! I never made a list for Books until I started Litsy! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Mdargusch I have this “suddenly blank mind” issue when I cross the threshold of grocery stores, bookstores, libraries, and Target. I get overwhelmed by the stimuli and my mind goes blank. Lists have been my solution for decades. 😎 6y
Mdargusch Good point. That‘s what I use Goodreads for. So I guess I just do electronic lists. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Mdargusch This list was pre-GR. I use electronic lists now too! 6y

I found some #botm spoilers lurking the site! These are all at the very bottom of the “debut” genre page. I also noticed that a lot of their backlist has been marked as sold out. Stuff as recent as The Wife Between🤔 #botmspoilers

stuck.in.the.stacks Looks like The Astonishing Color of After is Liberty's pick. So stoked! 6y
nosferatoos @felinesandfiction I‘m so glad they brought back judges. Liberty also said good things about Last Equation so 👀a Liberty Official Pick and also a drive by rec from her Litsy account 😂 6y
Cinfhen Awesome sleuthing!!! @Reviewsbylola @emilyhaldi @swishandflick @Booksandcooks Now to go check out the titles for more info💗Thanks so much for sharing❣️❣️❣️❣️ 6y

Cityofamber I feel like there‘s a grief/losing someone theme... 😬 6y
The_Heeler_Booklife They all seem meh to me. The Astonishing Color of After seems a little interesting compared to the others. 6y
BekahB Awesome! I was already thinking I‘d check out Rainbirds next month. 😀 6y
Reviewsbylola These are all new to me. I need to check them out. Thanks for the tag!! @Cinfhen 6y
Reviewsbylola Hmmmm after reading the synopses, Rainbirds is the only one I‘m remotely interested in. 6y
Reviewsbylola @Booksandcooks @L_auren @swishandflick Edit: Sorry for the annoying double tag. I didn‘t realize that Cindy had already tagged some of you. 😂 (edited) 6y
Cinfhen I wasn‘t very impressed either @Reviewsbylola they all seem YA to me....the only one was maybe the one compared to Storied Life of AJ 6y
swishandflick Thanks for the tag @Cinfhen and @Reviewsbylola - Awesome find @nosferatoos 🙌🏽 I'm not sure how I feel about these, I'll need to do some more research 🤔 6y
2BR02B Nice work, super sleuth! The Last Equation sounds intriguing. 6y
Laalaleighh I want all of them! Thank you for the A+ sleuthing! 6y
emilyhaldi I'm into Rainbirds too! @Reviewsbylola not so sure about the other two yet but maybe Liberty can sway me 🤔 6y
Reviewsbylola Not a chance in hell for me. I know how I feel about magical realism. 😂 @emilyhaldi (edited) 6y
kamoorephoto I HAVE ALL THREE ON MY TBR - WTH!!! 6y
Megabooks Agree with @swishandflick I need to do more research. None of these are on my radar. 🤔 This hasn‘t been a good time for reading. Thank you so much for tagging me @Reviewsbylola and @Cinfhen ! 🙏🏻👍🏻😊 6y
ErikasMindfulShelf Finally some spoilers!! Thank you! Rainbirds seems interesting. I wonder what the other two picks are. 6y
Cinfhen My thoughts EXACTLY @BarbaraTheBibliophage 😖the only book I was sort of interested in I was able to get an ARC...still two more so hopefully #NOYA 6y
theokiereader Yay for spoilers!! The sold-out titles are curious... 🤔 6y

Pickpick

There is much more to Dumplin‘ than tiaras, and cupcakes. I want to sit down and chat with Willowdean at 17, and then again as she ages. I think she‘ll become a woman just like a lot of us. She fights for the underdog, loves big, and sometimes wonders where she fits in the world. And then she gets a crazy idea to enter a beauty pageant. I cheered, I laughed, I got teary. So good! #booked2018 #bodypositivity

BarbaraTheBibliophage @minkyb @Mdargusch Thank you! ❤️❤️ 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen Thanks! I wondered where you stood on this one. I‘m usually in the #noYA camp, but I had this on my digital shelves and decided to try it for the challenge prompt. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. 6y

#DecDays Today is my son‘s last day of Chanukah #vacation ~ tomorrow it‘s back to school....so he NEEDS to spend today doing all the work he neglected, starting with reading this book for his free read...I haven‘t read it yet, but heard good things from Littens 🤞🏼🤞🏼 http://spoti.fi/2zUg6mp

Cathythoughts Good luck to your son with his work ! If he is like his mama he will fly through the book 💕👏👏👏 6y
Cinfhen Thanks @Cathythoughts when it comes to reading this one takes after dad...he prefers the movie version 🙄 6y
TrishB Ahhh that last minute, end of holiday feeling.....😔!! We all do it... 6y

Cinfhen He's been out all day @trishb ?went to a party last night, slept by a friend & he's still not back....so much for "all day I'm doing work" 6y
minkyb Procrastination is a true art form. I love Neil Shusterman. Hopefully it will be an easy read. 6y
emilyhaldi Lol, maybe you can zip through the book real quick and give him some cliffs notes 😂 6y
Cinfhen I'm pretty sure that was his plan @emilyhaldi but he should know...#NOYA for me 😜 6y
Cinfhen Now he wants to switch to Hunger Games @minkyb because obviously he׳s seen the movies 😬🙄🙈 6y
minkyb I like Neil Shusterman alot. I didn‘t realize you do not read YA. Litsy has turned me on to some wonderful authors. 6y
Cinfhen Im hot & cold with YA, mostly cold @minkyb but I have read some good YA ~ definitely bc of Litsy💘💘💘 6y

Thanks for the tag @Lizpixie @Robothugs
☑️ Contemporary, honest, powerful, detailed, insightful,
☑️ I enjoy a well crafted story, with fully fleshed characters and meaty plot
☑️ Don‘t like bloody gore, sexual violence/ abuse, harming children
☑️ More dystopian fiction, but not YA who save the world with magic potions, dragons & spells
☑️ I HATE sappy romance with magic potions, dragons & spells 😉

@teebe

britt_brooke I‘m with you on the potions, dragons, and spells. 🙅🏼‍♀️ 6y

Mdargusch That last one! “Sappy romance...” 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 6y
DivaDiane Have you read Gate to Women‘s Country, Shari Tepper? The Shore of Women, Pamela Sargeant? Where Late the Sweet Bird Sang, Kate Wilhelm? 0.4, Mike Lancaster? The Death of Grass or the (middle grade) Tripod Trilogy, by John Christopher? Those are all dystopian science fiction, some YA (no magic!) 😜 6y
Cinfhen I haven‘t read any @DivaDiane I will go have a look...thanks for the recommendations 💕 6y
emilyhaldi I might just repost this exactly 😂👍🏻 6y
Cinfhen Hahahaha @emilyhaldi #GoForIt 💞Have a wonderful time with the family 6y
TrishB So you don't know your HP house 😂😂 6y
Cinfhen Nope, not a clue @TrishB 😜 6y
Centique @cinfhen @trishb that‘s so funny! 😂😂 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage I don‘t mind spells and magic, but #noYA for me. You need some experience in life to save the world. Although the old folks in charge are doing a crap job here in the US. 🤪 6y
