Here is my intimidating physical #AugustTBR
A couple of these I will actually listen to on audio.
Several #chunksters here!

Dragon Illuminae is great as an audiobook 🐉💚 2mo
Gissy Great, amazing titles. Try to use the physical book to with Illuminae. I enjoyed the book. I don‘t know how is the audiobook but if I re-read it I will also use the audiobook. 2mo

Finally got my August #bookspin read list put together! I‘ve got a few #chunksters in this lot so we will see how many I can get through! August tends to be a lazy month for me so I will have plenty of time to read! @TheAromaofBooks

I seem to be living in the land of #chunksters lately. Still on an ED kick after reading her letters. Thought I‘d start with this biography which is said to be the most thorough and then I‘ll check out something more modern for a different perspective. See you in 630 pages!

TrishB That looks fab 👍🏻 3mo

Finally getting around to posting my #bookspin and #doublespin selections for the month. More #chunksters! Not surprising. They take up a huge part of my #TBR.

I will say though that the Physics book goes back to the very start of my #Goodreads list from 2008. One of the very first books I #TBR'ed there. The very first book I TBR'ed on Goodreads was the 3rd book in the Name of the Wind trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss. Still waiting on that one. 😊

Ruthiella Not your fault you haven‘t managed to read the third King Killer chronicle yet! 😆 4mo

#BookMoods #600 #600PlusPages

Being a restless & moody reader, #chunksters are not my favorites but I do have several books with #600+Pages that I‘ve read. The Harry Potter books more than once even. The last 600+ page book I read was the tagged, for a #buddyread

Susanita GMTA 😀 4mo
DebinHawaii @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks For some reason, and it kind of pains me to say it, I liked the book. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣🤣🤣 The movie not so much! 4mo

Continue with the buddy reads; the tagged #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead and with the #PemberLittens both The Other Bennett Sister and North and South.

Finish Troubled Blood and hopefully get a good start on Moon Witch, Spider King.

I have the next week off work, Easter vacation, and hope to get in a lot of reading.

BkClubCare Ha! That jacket design makes North and South look like it isn‘t a chunkster. 😂 6mo
Cinfhen You have a BUNCH of #chunksters 😅 6mo
AnneCecilie @Cinfhen But I have ALL the time since I don‘t have any other plans besides reading the next week. So it‘s the perfect time for them. 6mo
AnneCecilie @BkClubCare I know, but compared to the others it‘s not their big. 6mo

BINGO! One but so close to two. February is a short month, and a good portion of these books were >500 pg #chunksters and I did get to my #bookspin this month, but not my double. I am hoping to do both January and Feb. double in March. Thrid month in and already behind!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It‘s hard to describe John Irving. I‘ve only read three of his books, but they‘ve all hit similarly, and in the best way. Always an oddly likable, imperfect protagonist. Bizarre moments and details that might at first feel outlandish, yet become a believable exploration of humanity. The books within the book; the Ellen Jamesians. I loved it all, especially TS Garp himself.

Amiable Huge John Irving fan here! I‘ve read almost all of his works. This one is definitely a favorite! 8mo
britt_brooke @Amiable I can‘t wait to read more! So far, I‘ve loved this, Owen Meany, and Cider House Rules. What would you recommend I pick up next time I‘m in an Irving mood? 8mo
intothehallofbooks I haven‘t read any of his books yet, but earlier today I pulled The Cider House Rules off my shelf and put it on the table by my bed to start this week. 8mo

britt_brooke @intothehallofbooks I read that one last year then watched the film afterward (somehow I‘d never seen it). It‘s a good story. Hope you like it! 8mo
AmyG I loved, along with these two, The Hotel New Hampshire and Widow for One Year. He‘s a big favorite. Owen Meany is one of my most beloved books. (edited) 8mo
britt_brooke @AmyG Thank you! I‘m adding those to my TBR. I read Owen Meany in 2020 and it immediately became a favorite! 8mo
Amiable @britt_brooke I share @AmyG ‘s love of “A Widow for One Year.” I also really liked “Last Night in Twisted River.” But my heart will always hold a special place for “Owen Meany” and “Cider House Rules.” My all-time favorites. 🥰 8mo
britt_brooke @Amiable Thank you! 8mo
AmyG @Amiable I have to read Last Night in Twisted River. I just never got around to it. 8mo
Ruthiella @Amiable Those two titles are my absolute Irving favorites too. 8mo
Amiable @AmyG I also enjoyed “A Son of the Circus,” but I fully admit that is one I would not ever recommend to the casual or first-time Irving reader. It took me three attempts before I really got into it and finally finished it. (edited) 8mo
Amiable @Ruthiella So great, right? 8mo
Ruthiella @Amiable I still get a little teary eyed when I think about Owen Meany and it‘s been 30 years since I read it. 8mo
AmyG I am not even sure I read that one at all. @Amiable ….isn‘t he coming out with a new book? Did I read that? (edited) 8mo
Amiable @AmyG Yes, I think I saw an interview where he said it will most likely be his last book. 🥺 Not sure when it‘s supposed to be published, though. 8mo
Amiable @Ruthiella @AmyG Irving‘s works just have a way of grabbing your soul and holding on! The first sentence of “Owen Meany” is my favorite first line of any book. I also still think about another line from “The Hotel New Hampshire” more than 30 years after reading it: “Sorrow floats.” So simple and yet so profound. (edited) 8mo
Cinfhen Loving all the Irving suggestions @AmyG @Amiable @Ruthiella I‘ve only read Owen Meany, which I too quickly LOVED!!! I feel like Irving needs to be read in paper. Not on a kindle or audio. Not sure why 🤔I‘m gonna look in my charity shop where I volunteer. Thanks for the reminder, Britt!!! 8mo
Cinfhen Great photo 😍 8mo

lynneamch Good reminder. I need to read more Irving. 8mo
Amiable @Leftcoastzen Thank you! I‘ve been holding off on “Until I Find You” because I wanted to know that there was a “new” JI book for me to read. I don‘t know what I‘m going to do when I know for certain that there will never be any more books. 😩 8mo
Sapphire I have started Avenue of Mysteries a few times and not been grabbed like all the other times. Maybe it‘s time to try again. A prayer for Owen Meany is my all time favorite Irving. 8mo
britt_brooke @Cinfhen I want to read more of him! I‘ve gone back and forth with print and audio on the 3 books of his I‘ve read, and I actually love the audio, too. PS. I‘m trying NOT to be afraid of #chunksters this year! This was a good start. 8mo
britt_brooke @Amiable @Ruthiella @AmyG @Leftcoastzen Thank you all so much for the suggestions! I love the conversations this post has spawned. 🤩 8mo
britt_brooke @Sapphire Owen Meany is perfection. 💚 8mo
britt_brooke @lynneamch Yes! Me, too. 8mo
Cinfhen I know 😁 @AmyG xx and I‘m happy to hear audio is good, Britt. Sometimes I need a touch of both print & audio ♥️ 8mo
Amiable @britt_brooke John Irving is one of those authors who inspires passion —people either really love him or they really don‘t! 😀 8mo
britt_brooke @Amiable I can definitely see that! 8mo
Leftcoastzen “Maybe television causes cancer,Garp thinks;but his real irritation is a writers irritation:he knows wherever a TV glows, there sits someone who isn‘t reading.” -John Irving,The World According to Garp (edited) 8mo
britt_brooke @Leftcoastzen Such a great quote. 💚 8mo

I started my first few Serial Readers today. These are two #Chunksters that I want to read this year. I want to say Uncle Toms Cabin should be longer? No?

Allylu I loved Uncle Tom's Cabin. I listened to the audiobook. 9mo
Daisey I listened to War and Peace last year and read Uncle Tom‘s cabin on Serial Reader. It took me a long time to get into Uncle Tom‘s Cabin, but the later part went faster. 9mo

Hey, look at this! A #BookReport that's actually on time. Above is my report for the month of November. I did not finish as many books as I did in October. The top row are the books that I finished. All of them are really good!

The bottom row are all books in progress for various reasons. The #LibraryLottery has been impacting my reading *hard* this month. Plus more #chunksters on the month's #TBR. Pressing on!

Cinfhen Woohoo 🙌🏻 so glad you had a great reading month!! Quality over quantity is always better!!! And you still managed to read a lot!!! Hope you find the time to read in December 💚 10mo
