I'm catalouging the books for my personal reading challenge for 2018 which is part of bigger thematic structure for my year. As 2018 is the #Chinese #Zodiac #YearoftheDog
This is a wonderful #PenguinBooks edition with a total of four works by #JackLondon is edited by #AndrewSinclair & An Introduction by #JamesDickey
Now, i wanna watch The #EthanHawke version of the movie
This small novella isn't the one to begin acquaintance with Mo Yan's works. It is #autobiographical, but not very elaborate with details of #Chinese everyday life. I like it quite a lot, because I totally love his novels, and this book reveals some important milestones Mo Yan had to overcome before he became the worldwide known writer. I wish it was a full-length novel though, it would be so good!
It's a great fantasy debut with breathtaking plot, elaborate characters and well thought setting. Although the author blatantly pulls those needed for the story through deadly ordeals with almost no scratches, and the book is overloaded with numerous genocides, nazies, human experiments and gore along with traditional fantasy elements, I've read it with great interest and will wait for a sequel. 4⭐ out of 5.

May #bookhaul number 2: Chinese and Korean books. Three at the top: Mo Yan's Red Sorghum; Yu Hua's Chronicle of Blood Merchant and Brothers. The one at the bottom is monumental (900 pages with all the comments and appendices!) XIIIth century work by Buddhist monk on ancient Korean history named Samguk Yusa. #TBR #bookshopping #chinese #korean
Just finished this and really enjoyed it. Good coming-of-age novel about a #Chinese immigrant and her mother, who move from Hong Kong and struggle to survive in New York City. #LitsyAtoZ2018 @BookishMarginalia
#MarchMunchies #Chinese I am excited to finally get to this book that's been hanging out on my Kindle #TBR stack for far too long. I host the April/May round of my virtual foodie book club and this is the book I selected. I look forward to cooking some great Chinese food inspired by my reading & seeing everyone's dishes 📚🥄
The pic is congee (rice porridge) 🍚I made for another favorite foodie novel 'The Last Chinese Chef'--tagged below. ❤️
I stopped for #Chinese food on the way home from the dentist, because fried rice is nice and soft for a sore mouth. Panda Express frustrates me, so I go to a local carry out place. Speaking of pandas... https://www.instagram.com/p/BfpSqBIgItR/
