Loving the #AuldLangSpine list from @willaful
I had already started the tagged, but haven‘t read any of the others! But I‘ve enjoyed the other Poirot mysteries I‘ve read and have wanted to read more Pratchett since reading a novella in a collection earlier this year. And I think Tom Lake looks good. Going to see what my library has available and then plan from there!

Thanks again to @monalyisha for her matchmaking skills!

willaful Sorry I didn't think about my putting books late in a series. 🙄 Doesn't matter with the Poirot book though. 16h
CBee Tom Lake is wonderful 💚 16h
shortsarahrose @willaful - no worries! It just means that it‘s a good series to start! 16h

Ruthiella Going Postal is a really good place to start with the Discworld! It totally can stand alone. And if you love it, you can go back and read the series either in publication date order or by subseries: the City Watch books or the Witches books or the Death books, etc. 👍 15h
shortsarahrose @Ruthiella love that! Thanks! 13h
BookmarkTavern Going Postal is a fantastic place to start! It was my second ever Discworld! You are in for such a treat! And Roger Ackroyd is one of Christie‘s best, I think! (edited) 13h
shortsarahrose @BookmarkTavern Yay! I really enjoyed Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, so I already love Poirot and definitely need to read more with him! 12h

“‘No problem. I‘ll just bring up Helvar.‘ Jesper glanced back at the wheel as they set off down the opposite side of the deck. Kaz hadn‘t moved. He was still watching them, his eyes hard, his face as unreadable as ever.”

Well written and very engaging.
Maya is studying in earth, but when her friend asks her to help steal a lost artifact crucial to their people, Maya joins the new crew and they embark on a galaxy wide adventure full of forgotten memories, visions of the future, and alien museums.
4.5/5 read for a Laura Croft type hero who wants to her help her friend but must choose if that help is worth the cost humanity

3✨ My regret with reading this book is I was finishing a very stressful grading period and I don‘t completely engage in stories as well. This was a fun read and has a cliff hanger so have the next book ready. I was getting confused with the characters since there is three POV characters. There is tea, vampires, and an elaborate heist. #DogsofLitsy “Dice”

After a heist goes horribly wrong, Maya retires from her career as a thief to take a postgraduate degree in xenology, but her old partner Auncle persuades her to have another go at getting the Stardust Grail. If she does, she may have to choose between extinction for Auncle's race, the Frenro, and cutting off humanity's access to interstellar travel.

rwmg Great adventure story with lots of twists and turns, though I was pleased something I'd wondered about early on did turn out to be the case. The ending leaves it open for the crew of the spaceship Wonder to have lots more adventures together. I really want to read about it if they do. 4w
