I use this cartoon when trying to teach how changing perspective or point of view can change a story.

I know it's #AMatterofPerspective whether the characters' actions are justifiable or not, especially Dumbledore's. I've gone back and forth myself, but the more I listen, the more I come back to my original view: everyone was doing the best they could. Humans make mistakes. #StarTrekSummerMay

Rashomon | Donald Richie, Akira Kurosawa

This episode is baaaaaaad! But, turns out, the episode frame was inspired by Rashomon, i.e. the same events are viewed through many different perspectives. In Rashomon, we learn that there is no true point of view and the truth cannot be completely found. In TNG, Riker is innocent, of course, and there is truth to be found, with ¡Science! #StarTrekSummerMay #day1 #AMatterofPerspective

GingerAntics Oh Riker!!! I love Riker!!! 💙💙💙 2mo
Tamra Me in a meeting. 😒 2mo
Megabooks So sometimes I get stuck on watching certain episodes, and usually they‘re not the technically best/most popular. A few years ago, this was one of them. I do like the re-enactments from the witnesses, and how they‘re all so different. And I love the facepalm. 🤦🏻‍♀️👍🏻🖖🏻 2mo

#MayMovieMagic #StarTrekSummerMay This recent read of mine is both Sue Klebolds #HighwayToHell & #AMatterOfPerspective In it, the mother of one of the Columbine killers, was drowning in guilt, anguish & grief until she made a decision to change the perspective & turn her tragedy into a positive by working with Suicide Prevention groups, Anti Bullying & trying to reach out to depressed kids & young adults, so Columbines hell never happens again. 🚫

Cinfhen Such a compelling memoir!! My heart broke for Sue 2mo
AmyG An incredible story tha stays with me always. @cinfhen yes...my heart broke for her, too. (edited) 2mo

Itchyfeetreader I read this back to back with Columbine last year and found myself incredibly moved 2mo
Megabooks I own this book but have not read it. I cannot imagine the depth of her grief and sadness. I‘m glad she has changed something deeply negative to positive. 🖖🏻 2mo
gradcat I‘m with @megabooks I don‘t know how parents survive this kind of thing. 2mo

Madeleine is writing a novel about a writer named Edward who begins a novel about a writer named Madeleine. Who is in fact writing who? It's #AMatterOfPerspective but the story is taking them on a #HighwayToHell

The episode of Star Trek:TNG was all about truth. #AMatterofPerspective #StarTrekSummerMay @Megabooks

Megabooks Yes it was. It was a fantastic look at how memories are shaped by feelings, and how getting to the truth is the most important goal. 💯 2mo

Sleeping Giants | Sylvain Neuvel

I love Sylvain Neuvel, and I love his multiple perspective Sleeping Giants trilogy. Really fantastic full-cast audiobooks as well! But I think it‘s #AMatterofPerspective on what you think multiple narrator books. Some people love them, others don‘t. Some authors do it better as well.

Now on to the episode! This popular double facepalm 🤦🏻‍♀️ 🤦🏻‍♀️ gif started here. It‘s definitely one of my favorites to use. #TheMoreYouKnow #StarTrekSummerMay

julesG I once had this as a postcard. I love it. And I agree to multiple narrator audiobooks and Sylvain Neuvel. 😁 2mo
Megabooks @julesG That is awesome! Sometimes you just need a double shot! Neuvel is certainly my favorite in SF right now. 2mo

#MayMovieMagic #HighwayToHell This first person account sounds fascinating and I‘m thinking of using an Audible credit🧐Has anyone listened to the audio??? Is it worth it??? My Hoopla & OverDrive don‘t have the book or audio on offer 😖

Also works for #LongAndWindingRoad @Eggs and #AMatterOfPerspective @Megabooks

GlassAsDiamonds Book itself sounds fabulous! 2mo
Cinfhen I just listened to a sample @GlassAsDiamonds #HardPass UGH 😑 I think I‘m gonna do print when I find a cheap copy 🤓👍🏻 2mo
Megabooks Sounds fascinating! I used to watch Gangland on A&E all the time. I‘m sorry to say I haven‘t listened to it. Have you looked to see if you‘ve read with that narrator before? Ah I just saw you checked! Too bad. Definitely fits the prompt. Thanks for joining in! 🖖🏻 Good luck finding a copy. Goals always make shopping at used bookstores more fun! 2mo

rohit-sawant I've been meaning to read Hunter S. Thompson for years now and was hoping to start with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This one sounds intriguing, too! 2mo
TrishB Have read one by the author....😱😱 way too young!! 2mo
Eggs Great choice❣️ 2mo
britt_brooke @rohit-sawant They‘re both good. I liked Rum Diary a lot, too. 2mo
britt_brooke I listened to this on audio and it was decent. I felt like it could‘ve been shorter, honestly, but it was interesting. 2mo
Cinfhen Thanks @britt_brooke for your thoughts xx I‘m in no rush to read this but I‘ll keep my eyes open for a cheap copy 2mo
