A novel about a dysfunctional family so after reading this every other family looks great in comparison.

The matriarch of the family is gathering her children, niece and nephew for a Christmas celebration. This family brings out the worst in each other and some haven‘t been seen in years.

I had to stay up past my bedtime to finish this! A great mystery to bring in the Christmas weekend. Snow storms. Isolation. Members of the house party dying one by one. And, I loved Dr Bottwink, whose meticulous thoughts and observations were entertaining to read.

I‘ve enjoyed reading the #GoldenAgeCrimeClub books, @Mitch ! Thanks for hosting these!

An unreliable narrator, along with other unreliable characters adds to the suspense in this gothic novel.

This is my #1951 entry for the #192025 challenge, my 3rd book finished for the #AwesomeAugust readathon, and my #BookSpin selection for the month.

Librarybelle Oh…good choice!!! I may have to read this one too for the challenge 2y
marleed I loved this book - a woman in 1950 writing from the perspective of a man on what‘s inside the head of a woman. Very intriguing. 2y
kwmg40 @Librarybelle Du Maurier's books are always great reads! 2y

TheAromaofBooks I really enjoyed this one, even the somewhat ambiguous ending, which is not usually my jam. 2y
kwmg40 @Monica5 Nice to see so many Du Maurice fans here! 2y
kwmg40 @TheAromaofBooks I agree! I‘m not usually fond of ambiguous endings either. 2y
