Pickpick

‘Madonna in a Fur Coat‘ is a beautifully sad and poignant story. Raif leaves his Turkish home for the bright lights of early 20th century Berlin and falls in love with the half-Jewish Maria. It‘s a gorgeous push-pull between the yearning for a new, more adventurous life and the pull of family ties.

Re-visiting a popular and well loved classic which I personally didn‘t get around to reading until 2016. #192019challenge #1943 @Marchpane

#latergram (or is it #laterlitsy?) pic from last summer day outing on the trails.

Tamra I just saw from another Litten the other day that there is a sequel! (edited) 2y

Mehso-so

It is #1943, #Nazi occupation in #Amsterdam. Hanneke's work is to find and deliver sought-after black market goods to paying customers. Then one day, her client asked her to look for a missing #Jewish girl. I like the plot but unfortunately halfway through the story, I find it rather slow and dull. There was no umph moments for me and I didn't feel a deep connection with the characters. #WWII #historicalfiction
