The Infinite Sea
The Infinite Sea | Rick Yancey
The riveting follow-up to the New York Times bestselling The 5th Wave , hailed by Justin Cronin as wildly entertaining. How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity. Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race. Cassie and her friends havent seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate. Praise for The 5th Wave Just read it.Entertainment Weekly A modern sci-fi masterpiece.USA Today Wildly entertaining... A group of survivors from the waves of alien invasion continue to figure out what it means to be human.

I‘m enjoying these books for what feels like a winter apocalypse here in Texas. I‘m not sure if I ever remember it snowing twice in a year in Central Texas but here we are with snowing falling as we speak.

Through this book, Cassie and Evan start to fall in love, and they try and fight the 12th system, which is an injection with nanobot technology to rule over humans. In the end, they try and stop it, but there is a big explosion, and Vosch, who created the injection, escapes. And Cassie is reunited with Evan. I like books that have action and adventure, so I would definitely recommend this book. First-person because gives his own opinion a lot

MissYaremcio Great work Matt! Would have loved to see you read it a bit more in class lol but otherwise well done! 6/6 3y

This book is about two young teenagers, especially protagonists Cassie and Ringer, as they try and survive the world threatened by aliens that intend to squash humanity. I like books that deal with more fiction because to me it is more of a page-turner. The main theme of this novel is hope. The role of a promise helps me understand this is the theme because characters use promises as a sign of hope in the book.

MissYaremcio Well done Matt! I can always give you another if this one isn't a book you like! Let me know! 6/6 4y

The sequel to Rick Yancey's “5th Wave“ was very exciting and full of action. Evan, Cassie, Ringer, and Ben continue their effort to hide from the Others, a super intelligent race of aliens. It is different from many action books because it has lots of twists and turns that get you thinking instead of just constant explosions. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good sci-fi or action book.

Audio. ok for the parts I paid attention to. I think I will continue with the third book, as I still want to know what‘s going on (and I will admit that there was an interesting storyline happening at the end of this one). I also missed until 3/4 of the way through, that the female narrator wasn‘t just narrating from Cassie‘s POV, but also from Ringer‘s. So, I‘m not sure how much of Ringer‘s story I heard thinking I was listening to Cassie. Sigh

So-so. These books are okay, but I‘m not invested enough in the characters to rush into the third one.

This is the 2nd book in the Fifth Wave series. It picks up right were book one left off. Cassie didn't play as big a role in this one. Also we learned more about Ringer. There were some twists I didn't see coming. I appreciated the further character development. 5⭐ I have the 3rd book on hold at my library.

Infinite Sea is the second book in the 5th Wave series by Rick Yancey. The first book in the series was pretty good & I thought the series showed some promise. The first book even resulted in a movie, but the series went downhill after that. This book is better than the final book in the trilogy but I'd really only recommend reading the first book.

After the exciting conclusion to the first book (action and revelations galore) I wasn‘t sure where this book was going to go. The alien plan to exterminate the human species is well underway, but things can still get worse for the remaining survivors.

Evan and Cassie take a backseat while others get more page time. Poundcake‘s backstory slayed me, and Ringer grabs the spotlight and takes us behind the curtain to the alien agenda.

I really enjoyed the first book and the second was really good too. I like how they really developed the characters more in book two and got into the relationships and conflicts. I definitely recommend this series for people who like the dystopian wave of literature has hit us in recent years.

I just finished The Fifth Wave and The Infinite Sea in this trilogy. To me, the books are just okay. But I also rushed them to get to my other FIVE BOOKS that had been on hold for awhile and are now all available on my library app. 😯 It seems this issue always happens to me. Any one else? 😅

⭐️⭐️ I had a terrible case of high expectations heading into this book. And I'm sad to say that it is another fallen casualty of the sequel slump.

We took a massive detour from the main story - and as much as it was great to get some more dimension to side characters, it really seemed to drag out.

I loved the multiple points of view, and how they all intertwined, but overall, it was very filler. #ya #youngadult #dystopian

I really, really love this story, but it doesn‘t have a plot. I don‘t like it when series books become installments instead of sequels. I really did like the installment but I wanted a book. Definitely can‘t wait to find out what happens to these characters next...

Melissa_J I‘m reading The Last Star right now and finding it a little slow to get into. Mind you, I didn‘t love either of the first two books. 6y

This series is definitely not like a lot of other YA dystopian I have read. It's emotion- and action-packed, but it's also smart with some depth, and very well written. The narrators for this book are both excellent, too.

I really loved this second installment. So much so that I'm going to go right on to the third (and last) book now, rather than waiting 4 years like I did between books 1 and 2. 😂

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

Started this on audio this morning... I needed a little refresher on the first book, after I noticed on GR that I finished The 5th Wave in June 2013. Not sure what my delay was here, since I really liked it.

So far, loving the second one, too. 😃

Robothugs Ooh I loved this series! 7y
Peddler410 I read the first two -- I have the third but I don't really have an interest in reading it. Maybe someday. 7y

Finished this on audio while at work today. Enjoyed the alternating POV and that we got to see more characters than book 1. I do think the author uses some of the same phrases over and over again which can be tiresome. But still a good story, definitely keeps my attention.

This book was amazing!!! A great second to continue the pace and excitement of the first. This one broke my heart though towards the end with certain characters death 💔I gotta say, I didn't like Ringer at first, but before the book was over, she ended up being one of my favorites. But to be honest, most of the characters are my favorite😁If you liked the first one, then you will definitely like this one too!!! 😊❤
