Tombs: Junji Ito Story Collection
Tombs: Junji Ito Story Collection | Junji Ito
12 posts | 8 read | 3 to read
Three-time Eisner Award winner Junji Ito invites you to the horrific Tomb Town and beyond. Countless tombstones stand in rows throughout a small community, forming a bizarre tableau. What fate awaits a brother and sister after a traffic accident in this town of the dead? In another tale, a girl falls silent, her tongue transformed into a slug. Can a friend save her? Then, when a young man moves to a new town, he finds the house next door has only a single window. What does his grotesque neighbor want, calling out to him every evening from that lone window? Fresh nightmares brought to you by horror master Junji Ito.

#Scarathlon #SpookyGhostClub @Clwojick

I am mad at myself for waiting so long to explore the messed up world created by Junji Ito. He truly brings nightmares alive on the page.

I had to turn on the lights while reading this collection last night because I started to scare myself with the shadows and noise outside.

Excellent read for horror fans!

My favorite Junji Ito book so far. My favorite story is Floaters. A really good collection. I liked them all.

gossamerchild I loved this one, too. So deliciously creepy. 7mo

They have a dead body in the trunk and are trying to act like nothings wrong.

This is page 13, so not really a spoiler.

#VolumesAndVocals Day 26: A lot of #KarmaAliciaKeys in Junji Ito‘s graphic novels. Recent book haul as requested by 21 yo daughter.

vivastory There's a story in here where he literally has an aside & apologizes to the reader if they were eating while reading. He's never had that in a book I've read before lol 10mo
GatheringBooks @vivastory is it more graphic than others he has done? 🤯 10mo

vivastory I don't think so. It was one of the body horror pieces. It made me shudder a bit but I can think of more disturbing stories that he's done. 10mo
GatheringBooks @vivastory looking forward to reading it then. Would you know from which book mostly the netflix series was drawn from? 10mo
vivastory @GatheringBooks I didn't see your comment until just now. I'm not sure. I haven't seen the Netflix series. @reggie might have an idea. He is a fellow Ito reader. 10mo
Reggie I‘m so sorry. I didn‘t even know there was a Netflix series, so I‘m clueless. Lol @vivastory 10mo

Since my previous #weeklyreport 6 books reads: 1 novella, 2 story collections, 2 graphic novels & 1 manga. Also read quite a few more stories in Datlow's anthology Screams From the Dark. Highlights from anthology so far: Gemma Files, Daryl Gregory, Indrapramit Das, Richard Kadrey & Caitlin Kiernan. Standouts of the week were Laurel Hightower's grief horror indie novella “Crossroads“ & the tagged Ito collection which I read today.
