pickI love this series! Lila‘s cousin, Divina, is sent to the U.S. to avoid a scandal, but she is murdered shortly after arriving. Watching her God mothers deal with this tragedy as well as the destruction of their laundry, Lila steps in to help find the murderer. Love this group of characters who are family and friends.
pickIn the 4th of the series, Tita Rosie‘s Kitchen Mysteries, Lila‘s godmothers April, Mae, and June are set to open a new laundromat. When the business is vandalized and April‘s niece is murdered, local police are slow to investigate. Then it‘s Lila Macapagal, fearless heroine, to the rescue. pickThe best part of the story is the use of Filipino culture. It‘s so representative of it, particularly how nosy and meddling some Filipino ninangs and titas can be.
I also loved the characters. Lila, her friends, her family. I adored them all! They really made this a “cozy” mystery.

First day of #Scarathlon and I‘m so excited. Watched a few movies, while writing September reviews. Listen to a bit of my first book of the season and did a lot of relaxing to prepare for Monday 🤣. Super happy to officially start. Now to listen to a bit more of my book until I fall asleep.

pickI love a good cozy mystery. It is a go to genre for when I need to relax. The book follows Lila Macapagal and her extended family. Lila owns an adorable coffee shop/bakery. Her mom owns the restaurant to one side. Her godmothers are opening a laundromat on the other side. With all the assorted friends and relatives, it was a lot of people to keep track of. The mystery was interesting. I didn't figure out the killer until near the end.
