This is a charmer! Loved the audio version read by the author, but definitely benefited from a hardcopy for lists of laundry supplies and stain removing tips. This little book has much to love: heartfelt notes about the author‘s southern upbringing and subsequent love of vintage/quality clothing and how to take care of these garments, as well as practical tips for making laundry an enjoyable task while eliminating chemicals from the process.

Tagged by Barbara Jean to share my best reads of the year so far. Difficult to choose! But looking at it - a fun mix! My comfort zone of SFF is well represented, but nonfiction, which I'm trying to read more of, makes a strong showing. There's even a literary novel on there!

Fun story - I finished When the Angels Left the Old Country and Maybe You Should Talk to Someone on the same day! I wandered around in a very satiated good book daze.

I was not expecting to enjoy a book about laundry as much as I did! Patrick is a textile lover and wants to share every trick he knows on how to take care of clothes and take care of yourself. Want to know how to machine wash a wool sweater (without shrinking)? Remove just about any stain? This book's for you! I got a library copy and immediately went out and bought my own because I knew I'd want to go back over it again and again.

I love doing laundry - of all the chores around the house, give me laundry! But I also am NOT an expert. I am looking forward to reading this and finding all the perfect tips. 💕

This was so informative and while I wouldn't suggest listening to the audio, Richardson has an incredibly charming voice for narration. But because there are sections of this that are more list/encyclopedia-type passages, audio isn't going to be terrible useful. I have ordered my own hard copy and am looking forward to going back through it again.

OK, I might officially be old, but I really enjoyed this one. It‘s exactly what it looks like, a book about laundry tips. But the author‘s voice as he reads the audio is fun and playful and entertaining. I also learned a ton about how I should actually be doing my laundry. 😆

Who would've ever thought that I would thoroughly enjoy listening to an audiobook about laundry!? Yet here we are and I've managed to learn quite a bit from the "Laundry Evangelist". This one will definitely have to become a print acquisition for future reference since it is jam packed full of very handy stain removal tips (and plenty of Southern charm!)

Well this was unexpectedly delightful!! I never realized a book about laundry could give me #AllTheFeels 💕Patric Richardson mixes practical advice with universal wisdom, self help, self love and oodles of southern charm and helpful pointers about going green and protecting the environment. I liked the audio but think this might be better in print. I plan on buying copies( but once it‘s available in paperback 😜) Thanks for the rec @Megabooks

Laundry isn't my favorite chore (not that I can think of a chore I enjoy. ? Ha! Probably why they're called "chores!" ?) but it's been a lovely day for back porch reading and I'm willing to let Patric convince me.

I blew through this quick 5 hour #audiobook while doing (what else?) LAUNDRY 😂 this morning. He‘s got some really fantastic ideas and tips in here that are going to change things up for me! In fact, I immediately ordered the print book after finishing.

That said, it‘s available on #hoopla if you want to try before you buy, but I think I‘m going to be very happy to have a print copy for reference on stains/washing techniques in my laundry room!

Can I say I‘m one excited weirdo to get this book from the library?? I‘m known around the house as the Laundry Wench, and tbh, it‘s my favorite chore. Hopefully I‘m not going in too jazzed about this one! #nonfiction #audiobook
