I‘ve got to say I‘m disappointed with this one. I started this one last month and kept putting it down. Decided to add it to my #bookspin list to force myself to commit. I didn‘t like it near as much as I‘ve liked her other stories. Without giving away details there is a part of this storyline that I find somewhat disturbing and this kept me from fully enjoying it. #bookspin #mayreadinglist #springread @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks It's always sad when a well-liked author lets you down. 2w

I like how Colleen Hoover took a different turn from most of her books and added some supernatural/ghost elements to the romance, but it could have been done in a way that didn‘t make me feel sick. Layla, the main love interest, experiences a traumatic injury and the main character BLAMES HER FOR IT and then lets a ghost POSSESS HER because he loves the ghost and she reminds him of how Layla was before the accident. It‘s just sickening.

Unabridged Audiobook (9/10):
Yet again, Colleen Hoover manages to blow me away with her work! This is so much different than previous works of hers that I‘ve read and honestly others from the same genre. Going into it blind really made the twists, turns, and questions linger in my mind. If thriller novels aren‘t typically your thing, this is definitely one to try!

WJCintron I loved this one!! I LOVE Colleen!!! She's so authentic!! 2mo

I was not expecting this to be a paranormal story and was turned off at first. But the twists got me! A fun read.

I'd almost forgotten about this book, so I was glad to stumble back on it. I'm at a point where I'll read CoHo's stuff without bothering to check the synopsis, so I was a little caught off guard when it took a paranormal turn. If you're looking for CoHo's more standard fare, this isn't it. And if you've never read her books, this isn't really where I recommend starting. But it kept me off balance and the twists threw me for a loop! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

3.5⭐️ What did I just read? I went into this book knowing nothing but that there is a ghost. Ended up being the weirdest reading experience I‘ve had in a while. Fast paced and entertaining enough to suck you in but with characters and situations that have you questioning whether or not you like them.

Colleen Hoover is quickly becoming one of my Must Read Authors. Just when I thought "I knew it"...bam NO i didnt!! Just when I thought it wouldnt get any crazier..bam..it DID!! This was def one of my fav reads this year. And not to mention I devoured it almost in 1 day.

WJCintron I LOVE her! She brings me to tears every time! I don't know if you already read it, but I tagged one of my favorites. It's an easy read. You'll finish it in a sitting. I haven't read the series yet, though, but this is so good! 😃 6mo

I am pretty sure this book made me feel every emotion under the sun.. happy, sad, angry, scared. It was SO good; I had no clue what to expect, and I hadn‘t heard a lot about it so I was worried it wasn‘t good and I wouldn‘t like it; uhhh yeah last time I ever doubt my girl Colleen; thank you for always dabbling in other genres and killing it every damn time

The reviews were so mixed that I wasn‘t sure I wanted to read it. I‘m glad I did as it wasn‘t what I expected from the bad reviews. I don‘t like when people expect every main character to be of great moral character. I enjoyed the book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Colleen Hoover did it again and made me rest assured that anything she puts out will be phenomenal. I have been putting reading this novel off from the moment it got released because i was afraid I might not like it, and boy, was I wrong! I started this at the beginning of the month, but stopped at 18% and I finished it today when I picked it up again 😂

I just finished reading & she did it again: I'm crying! Even though I figured out the twist before hitting the 50% mark, the way she developed the story & the ending, hit me hard. I liked how she went from the present time to when the events happened. I always enjoy her books.
I'm surprised about how I felt towards Leeds. It was a rollercoaster of emotions from beginning to an end. I know both Leeds and Layla will stay with me for a long time.

I‘m enjoying this one! 😃 I think the twist is predictable, but I really enjoy her writing style. I think she‘s doing a great job with this thriller. It‘s not scary, but I‘m invested in the characters, and that keeps me reading. 👍 Hope everyone is doing great! 🤗 #layla #colleenhoover #book #thriller #currentlyreading #author

WJCintron @CherMoreBooks It‘s really good. I‘m on chapter 25. It‘s not scary but definitely a thriller. I like how the story takes you from the present time to when the actual events happened. Little by little you get the full story from the eyes of Leeds. 😃👍 You also get bits here and there of romance. 8mo

I loved this paranormal romance thriller! The skeptical main character, Leeds, gets more than he bargained for with Layla and Willow. What a mixed up love triangle of sorts! It made sense by the end and was an enjoyable journey.

SteffK This one kept the twists really coming and made me want to grab more and more of Colleens books. What a thriller I never expected!

This was a really interesting book by Colleen Hoover, who I LOVE. It had a little bit of everything. Suspense, romance, paranormal, twists. I really enjoyed the storyline and it was a really good one to listen to, as well. It kept my interest from the second I started it to the ending. I wish the ending had a little more to it which was really my only complaint!

This was a very strange, freaky book. I mean that in a good way. I loved the paranormal spin. I think that the character, Layla, will stay with me for a long time. I‘m not sure that I liked Leed‘s character as well, although some of his issues were resolved for me at the end. And yes, there is a nice twist at the end of this story.

I bought Layla by Colleen Hoover before I bought Verity but read Verity first. I was unimpressed by Verity and I have put off reading Layla because of it. Personally, I thought Layla was much better. The suspense was paced well and even though I wasn't transformed by the book, it was interesting enough to keep me turning pages. At under 300 pages it was a quick book and kept me engaged until the end.

This one just didn't do it for me. I really enjoyed the intense connection Layla and Leeds. Their connection felt destined. I don't particularly care for books that jump back and forth in time. Willow was kind of sketchy for me.

March Book 16/25 #LitsyLove #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Sometimes a book just isn't the right match!! 1y
BayouGirl85 @TheAromaofBooks I have learned to be ok with mismatch books. I used to get a sense of failure about DNFs but there are so many great books out in the world waiting to be discovered. 1y
TheAromaofBooks That's what finally made me more comfortable with DNFing - there are literally more books that I want to read than I will ever have time to get to - why would I spend time forcing myself through ones that I'm not really enjoying?? It's taken me a long time to get to that point because I used to pride myself on always finishing every book I picked up, but learning to not do that has actually helped me get more out of my reading time!! 1y

I loved this how this book started, then half way through I was like what the freak am I reading?! Then, a huge plot twists came and I was like oooooh, okay. After that I was not thinking what the freak happened and was thinking more like oh my gosh. This book was really well done and I loved everything about it.

An out-of-the-box romance for Valentine‘s week! 😆🤯 In the middle I was disliking Leeds, but I should have known CoHo would pull it all together! I started to suspect what was happening, but had no idea how it would end. I couldn‘t read the last chapters fast enough. Fresh, imaginative, and heart-pounding, I know I‘ll be thinking about this one for awhile! (Side note, I love her sense of humor and this dedication made me smile!)

I wasn‘t sure what to expect when I started this book but I figured out what the book was about pretty quick. I caught on pretty quick on what was going on but that didn‘t stop me from hating Leeds as a character. I liked that I hate Leeds. He was a fuck boy to the max when he thought his gf‘s bubbly carefree attitude that he fell in love with was gone after their very traumatic event. He was looking for those traits in other women and found it.

That-Bookish-Hiker And that annoyed me so much. I get his behavior was explained in the end but in the scenes before he made me so angry. I like when authors write characters like this that it really makes you feel all these myriad of feelings for them while reading their story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1y
