Reading Hamlet- I really hope Hamlet is correct in his suspicions that the King killed his father. He seems to be acting insane, and the King seems to be more sane and level-headed. I wish Hamlet could organize his thoughts and emotions before seeking revenge.

Reading Hamlet- Once again, I love that Shakespeare mentions another one of his plays in his play.

Reading Twelfth Night- I love when Shakespeare references his older plays in other plays. This is the second one I‘ve found.

Reading Twelfth Night- I feel like Antonio will turn out to be Olivia‘s brother, but that could just be the soap opera addict in me coming out.

From Julius Caesar- I love this quote!

blurb
Owls31092

From Julius Caesar- I find the shift of attitudes of the citizens very interesting. I believe Brutus justified himself when he spoke to them, but when Antony spoke, he spoke with emotions that swayed the people. I guess a theme of this play could be it‘s easier to win a crowd with emotions than logical thinking.

A plan to read all of Shakespeare‘s plays in a year! While I can‘t commit to this it sounds awesome. Think I might dabble a little in the bard‘s works this year, though.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Looks like a good one for the #ShakespeareReadAlong group (edited) 2mo
ravenlee @Riveted_Reader_Melissa thanks, I was trying to remember the name of the group! 2mo
mdhughes72 I tried this when I learned I‘d been selected for Jeopardy but instead of reading the plays I watched BBC productions of them instead. After 5 or 6 they all started bleeding together in my mind. 2mo

mdhughes72 @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Oh that was years ago. I was a 1-day champ. Sorry to hijack your page @ravenlee 2mo
GingerAntics All of his works in one year? That sounds overwhelming. Eek. 1mo

It was a lovely coincidence to see this article shortly after I decided to re-read Shakespeare in 2020. I just put the schedule in my paper planner and electronic calendar. If you want to do #Shakespeare2020 the link will take you to information and the reading schedule.

New-fangled; bedazzled; birth-place; cold-blooded; cold-hearted; brave new world; green-eyed monster; band of brothers; too much of a good thing; the be all and end all; sea change.

These are just a few of the phrases William Shakespeare have to us. I think that puts him up there with the #MenWhoMatter

1. Not an original choice but it just can‘t be anything other than Shakespeares complete works!

2. Bare feet unless it‘s really cold

Sace Ohhhh, I hadn't even thought about plane trips. I just went straight to a mountaintop. 4mo
