⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I never got the chance to read this one in high school so I read it now. It was a really good book and it was seriously on point with how politics evolves and how a well meaning theology can become rather insidious.

Book #8 of Indian Origin Author October Series
With my Indian Origin/Born Author marathon in progress for October I really felt cheating when I felt so tempted to read this book. Had really heard a lot about it and the numerous inner meanings this small powerhouse of a book carried.
Although, its strange is how things work, the first page in the book made me jump off my seat. It read Owell was born in India Yaay. Must Read!

1. Animal farm is my current audio listen. I read it in school and it stuck with me and I‘ve been wanting to reread it. I‘m between print books at this moment.
2. Daughter is having a friend sleep over tonight. We are going to movies in the park.
3. Bubble gum!
4. I used to be pretty good at clarinet but I think my music reading skills have fallen off quite a bit.
5. I will! #friyayintro @howjessreads

TamAnder I love bubble gum ice cream, but it‘s so hard to find. Reminds me of post-swim lesson treats as a kid. 3mo

Reading Animal Farm for the first time in a couple of decades only to discover that Napoleon is a Berkshire...the same breed of pig we raise here on the farm. It‘s the little things that amuse me. Should I fear porcine mutiny from my Pippa and her pals? 😂 #NEWTSreadathon2019

I just finished George Orwell's Animal Farm. I read 1984 a few months ago. How did you feel about this book? I wish somebody mentioned to read it back in College when Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto was required reading. I was this close to not reading the appendices, It's a good idea to read not only if you haven't made the allegorical connection of the story to the Russian revolution but also because it gives an idea of the kind of writer GO was

This is one of the few mandatory books I liked in h.s. Sometime in my early 20‘s, I bought a few classics I liked & re-read them.
1) I wish I had known more about the Russian revolution when I read this the first 2 times. This may be a book that would be better in a government class than English.
2) definitely still relevant today. We see all the time how people react to power.

I loved this book in high school and decided to reread it in college. The amount of politics in this book that I didn‘t notice before is unreal. You won‘t be able to put this short SF novel down by the amazing George Orwell. A classic book for IR or LC. https://www.readinggroupguides.com/reviews/animal-farm/guide this link shares discussion questions that are perfect for a LC or for a teacher to ask on a students IR. #ucflae3414su19

MeganKlein I read this book in high school as well and I would love to go back and reread this book now. I think my perspective on some of the topics in this book might change now, but I agree with you in that the amount of politics in this text is unreal! (edited) 4mo

It is a short, easy and perfect explanation of how power can make the best "man" become what he said he hates.

The book, even though it was written decades ago, still explains the world as we know it today

I recommend this 100%
