Book 5 of the Dune series really horny, bonkers in parts but still very enjoyable and thought provoking. There is no way I can say anything meaningful about this books is a few sentences. Check out our discussion about it on the Mind Duck Books Podcast ep. 67: https://bit.ly/3JgDcs3

The best book of the dune series, there I said it. This has to be one of the weirdest pieces of media out there that somehow still manages to completely make sense. Join us on our podcast to discuss of the most infamously strange, thought-provoking, comedically hilarious, gory and overly sexual books I have ever read - Mind Duck Books Podcast ep. 66: https://bit.ly/3IZR4Xi

After Dune which did a great job of setting up all the concepts and worldbuilding, Dune Messiah as one of the perfect sequels, Children of Dune is my least favorite from these 3 so far. However, it is the most eventful, more planets characters and somehow is even darker than the second book. One of the best sequels ever I dare to say. Great follow-up to the first book. The ending manages to wrap everything up so neatly and it has some of the best characters I will ever remember from a book.

A dreaded memory from a long time ago came back to haunt me.... This time I pushed through, got very sick multiple times and managed to read everything. What a vile disgusting mess this book is omg! I am happy to say that I have done it and hopefully we will never talk about this ever again!

I was really curious and excited about this book and I hate to say that it is very disappointing. I wish there we more creative ideas and the book lived up to it's premise which is releasing a demon upon reading it. Just for the novelty of the premise it was worth reading it for me. however, it really underdelivers and there isn't much going for it.

Saturnin is a classic Czech comedy from the 1940s that is delightfully easy to read has something to say and is genuinely funny at parts. It was great to re-read it, I'd still recommend it today if you want to try something different and relaxing.

While it is true that the AI is a better character than any of the human character and it is very dry, it does explain everything clearly and gives you a lot to think about. This is what books and Arthur C. Clarke can do really well. Ask big questions and really make you think.

I loved this book so much when I first read it. Revisiting it almost 20 years later was a treat. I think it still holds up and is very easy and fast to read. Moreover, it feels very relatable and has some good points about society and human nature while not being on the nose about it. Especially if you don't read much, I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

Love the concept, had a great time thinking about what it all means, hated the rad descriptions and felt very dumb and confused at times. The amazingly cool scenes and descriptions really are to it's determent. however, buried under them is a really clever and well constructed story.

This book is exactly what you think it is. Given the list of books the writer has written, there isn't much to be said other than, it's another UFC encounter written in a very dry and uninteresting way.

the monster looks amazing, the book is not recommended.

I got exactly what I wanted out of this. It's a great language, culture and mood time capsule that is great at hinting things and setting the mood. If you're curious about what a wendigo story written in 1910 is like and want to try reading a short spooky story for Halloween I would thoroughly recommend it.

This is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Pulpy horror with a killer creature that has to be one of the least dangerous threats ever depicted in horror. That was indeed why I was interested in the first place. Even thought this book is bad, I still got a lot out of it and had lots of fun talking about it on the podcast for our month of horror books. Marked is a special book. It's really bad and boring and at the same time hilarious and quite something to experience. A teenage daughter advising her mom about high-school life and the mom taking it seriously and writing this novel based on that really shows. The dialogue is just something else... read it with friends out loud and try to give each character a unique voice. That is definitely the way to read this.

I would recommend it to anybody who likes to talk crazy plots with their friends. So many loose ends, concepts, Keats, AIs, so many bonkers moments. Does it come together and is everything resolved nicely in a satisfactory way at the end. Exactly the opposite as a matter of fact.
