Shane has been doing college all wrong. Pre-med, stellar grades, and happy parents...sounds ideal -- but Shane's made zero friends, goes home every weekend, and romance...what’s that? Her life has been dorm, dining hall, class, repeat. Time's a ticking, and she needs a change -- there's nothing like moving to a new country to really mix things up. Shane signs up for a semester abroad in London. She's going to right all her college mistakes: make friends, pursue boys, and find adventure! Easier said than done. She is soon faced with the complicated realities of living outside her bubble, and when self-doubt sneaks in, her new life starts to fall apart. Shane comes to find that, with the right amount of courage and determination one can conquer anything. Throw in some fate and a touch of magic - the possibilities are endless.

Pickpick

I fell into this book from the very first page! With Fangirl vibes and the author‘s uniquely entertaining voice, this story took me by surprise! I loved the awkward MC and her circuitous path to the life she was meant to make for herself. It‘s easy to lose yourself in the whirlwind of early adulthood expectations. Riccio captures that beautifully. This is the book I wish I had had in my late teens and early twenties! Definitely worth picking up!

Decided I couldn‘t wait to start reading this book so I‘m going to start now. Also, because I‘m going to go to the Barnes and Noble book club for it on June 13 I decided to try my hand at taking notes while I read.

Book haul! I had to pick up Christine‘s new book at Barnes and Noble and walked out with step sister and Much Ado About Mean Girls. (Oops 🤷‍♀️) I also went to target and picked up Mirror, Mirror. Then this month‘s #owlcrate came today and got We Hunt the Flame. #bookhaul #muchadoaboutmeangirls #mirrormirror #stepsister #wehunttheflame #againbutbetter

tracey38 I just got my owlcrate today too. It was a good box. 6d

MaggieCarr I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed... Plays aren't normally my genre. Hope you like it too :) 5d

Bookaholicforlife @MaggieCarr I‘m glad you enjoyed it and that it surprised you. As a theatre major I usually wind up reading a lot of plays and scriptsbit I am particularly excited for this one 5d

I liked it. It had some funny moments and also a ton of pop culture references as well. I love the idea of having a reset button. I thought the romance was okay. It‘s pretty enjoyable if you want something light and cute.

BooknerdsLife I‘ve seen this book in many book blogs or bookstagram and now I‘m curious about it even tho it doesn‘t sound like the book I‘d usually read 🤔 7d

A grey day means grading at B&N and teasing myself with books I'd like to buy.

I enjoyed parts of this book. I liked the concept of what happens in the middle. I liked Babe. I loved the travel. But other than that the book was a bit of a mess. Shane‘s klutziness was beyond a YA cliche and I detested that. I hated all the lyrics and talk about books that I don‘t like. (Con‘t in comments)

InBooksILive Yeah I started this one but quickly lost interest. 3w

Let me start by saying that I wanted to love this book so much that I may have set unreal expectations. I love the title, the cover, and the premise. But, this was harder to get through than I expected.
