"How dare the Avengers want shawarma; we invented that."
I fell into this book from the very first page! With Fangirl vibes and the author‘s uniquely entertaining voice, this story took me by surprise! I loved the awkward MC and her circuitous path to the life she was meant to make for herself. It‘s easy to lose yourself in the whirlwind of early adulthood expectations. Riccio captures that beautifully. This is the book I wish I had had in my late teens and early twenties! Definitely worth picking up!
Book haul! I had to pick up Christine‘s new book at Barnes and Noble and walked out with step sister and Much Ado About Mean Girls. (Oops 🤷♀️) I also went to target and picked up Mirror, Mirror. Then this month‘s #owlcrate came today and got We Hunt the Flame. #bookhaul #muchadoaboutmeangirls #mirrormirror #stepsister #wehunttheflame #againbutbetter
I liked it. It had some funny moments and also a ton of pop culture references as well. I love the idea of having a reset button. I thought the romance was okay. It‘s pretty enjoyable if you want something light and cute.
I enjoyed parts of this book. I liked the concept of what happens in the middle. I liked Babe. I loved the travel. But other than that the book was a bit of a mess. Shane‘s klutziness was beyond a YA cliche and I detested that. I hated all the lyrics and talk about books that I don‘t like. (Con‘t in comments)
