New York Times bestselling author Maria Snyder returns with a compelling new sci-fi series. Perfect for fans of Star Wars and Poison Study. Year 2471. A new discovery. Those three words thrill my parents the galaxy's leading archaeologists but for me, it means another time jump to a different planet. One so big, my friends will be older than my dad when we arrive. And I'll still be seventeen. Thanks, Einstein. I really can't blame Einstein, though. No one expected to find lifesized terracotta warriors buried on other planets. So off we go to investigate, traveling through space and time. With my social life in ruins, I fill my days illegally worming into the quantum net the invention that allows us to travel in space. Of course the only person close to my age is a hotbutpainintheneck security officer who threatens to throw me into the brig. But when one of the warrior planets goes silent, we have bigger problems on our hands. The planet's entire population might be dead. And now my worming skills, along with a translation of an ancient alien artefact, might be the key to finding out why. But my attempts to uncover the truth lead to the discovery of a deadly new alien phenomenon, and also alert those who wish to keep it quiet. The galaxy is in real danger and time is not on our side... A pageturning story of courage and determination in the face of the unknown. 'Smart, witty and full of heart, Navigating the Stars had me hooked from the very first page!' Lynette Noni, bestselling author of Whisper & The Medoran Chronicles

This book was a lot of fun. The difference between actual years and earth years really confused me. I kind of just let her explain it and tried not to think about it too hard.

The ending surprised me, I didn‘t see the bad guy coming. It was a little weird reading about teens making out, but it wasn‘t too graphic.

#DoubleSpin for February
#pop22 - constellation on cover (might be cheating a bit 😬)
#MarvelousMarch - Book 2 finished

BarbaraBB Well chosen for the prompt! 2y
KarenUK Not cheating! Call it “creative interpretation! “ 😏 2y
TheAromaofBooks Yay!! I actually read the next two books to finish out the trilogy and enjoyed where Snyder took the story. Glad you enjoyed it!! 2y

Had the day off today, so finally getting some reading in while my hubby works in the garage. #LMPBC

Slowish start, but then I really became invested. YA SciFi hacking, space archeology, alien mystery, some romance (did I mention YA) and a good distraction during COVID. Mikala I will see if my mom can mail it tomorrow or Wed. Sarah it was a great choice 🙌❤️🙌 #lmpbc ( @Avanders have you read this trilogy?)

BethM This sounds great! And oh no I missed you‘re sick! Feel better soon friend!! 2y
Chrissyreadit @bethm thank you!! 2y
Avanders Oooh no .. I‘ve never even heard of it! I‘ll have to check it out 😁😁 2y

TheAromaofBooks I didn't realize you were sick!! Hopefully you are on the road to recovery now!! I really enjoyed the rest of this trilogy and thought it had a solid ending. I didn't enjoy them as much as Snyder's Chronicles of Ixia books, which I love, but they were still pretty fun. 2y
Chrissyreadit @TheAromaofBooks I‘m feeling better. I also stacked Ixia. 2y
TheAromaofBooks The Ixia books are in three trilogies, but I think they definitely make the most sense read in order, although I didn't care for the middle trilogy (the Glass books) as much as the six narrated by Yelena. If you go to Snyder's website, she also has a bunch of little short stories that fit in between the main books - they aren't necessary to read, but they do add some fun details!! 2y

Okay #LMPBC friends, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I really enjoyed this one a lot. The bad news is that it's definitely first-book-y, so even though it doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it does leave plenty of loose threads to be tied up during the rest of the series. So my question is, do you still want me to use this one for our round, or should I do my second-place book, Shadows by Robin McKinley? Let me know what you think!

Chrissyreadit Do you think it‘s so good you can‘t wait for the next one? Im ok with that, are you going to read the Robin McKinley anyway? And decide which one from there? Honestly Im ok if you do this one and save the other if you want to do another round of fantasy too. 2y
Laughterhp I‘m okay doing this one. I have the same question as Chrissy. Is it so good you can‘t wait for the next one? If so, sounds like a good book. But I‘m also okay if you want to switch. 2y

TheAromaofBooks @Chrissyreadit @Laughterhp - I already finished the second book and started the final book today 😂 I really enjoyed this book a lot, I just don't want you all to finish reading it and feel gypped because there are still some story arcs left unresolved. If I felt like everyone would have time to read them, I'd send the whole trilogy around haha 2y
Chrissyreadit I admit I‘m slow these days- I still have to read the Novik book to send @Laughterhp and I never received Ariadne. But my bookeyes are always bigger than my bookstomach 2y
HOTPock3tt I‘m happy to stay with this one ☺️ @TheAromaofBooks 2y
TheAromaofBooks @HOTPock3tt @Chrissyreadit @Laughterhp - Okay, I will send it around, and it will come with the recommendation to read the next two books as well!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me!! 2y

@MatchlessMarie is celebrating her 33rd birthday with a #33by33 readathon!! Her goal is to read for 33 hours by November 15. Playing with that riff, I've decided to see how close I can get to 3300 pages LOL Since that's an average of almost 700pgs a day, I don't think I'll actually hit that, but I'm hoping that stacking this readathon with #AnyWayYouReadathon & #NovelNovember will help inspire to read in the evenings instead of riding the range ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) on Red Dead Redemption 2 😂

First step - finishing the tagged book, which I'm thoroughly enjoying!!

Happy Birthday, Marie!!!
2y
RaeLovesToRead RDR2 is awesome though! 😁🤠 2y
TheAromaofBooks @RaeLovesToRead - What's crazy is that my husband played through once & I literally watched the entire thing like it was a movie, like we were SO invested in the story. Then we played through together, he did most of the shooting & I did most of the wandering-around-on-horseback bits. Now I'm playing AGAIN, very slowly, & he's been hanging out with me while I do, & we are STILL finding stranger missions/convos we missed before!! 2y
RaeLovesToRead That's amazing!!!! I think I got like 97.5% complete or something ridiculously close in the end. After using the guide to find all the dinosaur bones (for very little payoff!) I decided enough was finally enough! 😅😅 Amazing game! Also, the soundtrack is so beautiful. Highly recommend it as soothing background music 🥰 2y

I haven‘t read a sci-fi in so long, and I don‘t really have much bad stuff to say about this book. Mostly just that I wish that the romance had been more of a slow build up. But it is missing that piece of it that makes it five stars. 4⭐️

Hey there #GroupC friends!! I finally came up with a few options for my choice for Round 10!! Do any of these sound good?? Any you've already read, or an author you don't like?? Let me know what you think!! I will say that the tagged book & Fireborne are both first in series, but the rest are stand alones.

@Chrissyreadit @Laughterhp @Catsandbooks

Laughterhp I haven‘t read any, but my top choice would be Kingdom of Back or In Other Lands or Fireborne. I‘m most interested in Kingdom of Back though. (edited) 4y
Chrissyreadit I‘ve read Fireborne- but I‘m open to any of the others. 4y
Chrissyreadit Ok- I‘ve read the blurbs on the others and my two main interests would be navigating the stars and entwined, but I‘m sure I‘m ok with whatever you choose 4y

Catsandbooks I haven't read any of these. My top picks are Kingdom of Back and Fireborne, but I'm open to any of them! 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Laughterhp @Chrissyreadit @Catsandbooks - It sounds like Kingdom of Back is the most popular option, so I'll probably go with that one. But if I start it & don't like it, I'll keep Entwined as a back up haha I already own both of them ( 😬) so that's not an issue lol 4y
Catsandbooks @TheAromaofBooks sounds good 👍🏼 4y
Revenge4bess The rest of us just live here? Unfortunately the title is a little too realistic. Quick book recommendation. I just finished The Wedding Date and escaped from reality. Had fun with it. The concept goes with Entwined I think. 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Revenge4bess - Thanks for the recommendation!! It sounds like one I would enjoy!! 3y
Revenge4bess You‘re welcome. Also, Eligible is fun(modern re-telling of P&P) 3y

Space travel, terracotta warriors and worming skills. Maria v Snyder doesn't disappoint with the first book in her new series.
