Has anyone read The Darkest Minds series by Alexandra Bracken? I really enjoyed the first one but not the second so far. It may have to go to the DNF list. I get that some time has passed and they are further into the story now. However this one almost seems like a whole different series and writing.

I still enjoyed the second darkest minds installment. But there are a few things I didn't. The band of different kids traveling together at odds with the world I felt was the best part of the book. This book they were all broken up and broken against each other, which took some of the magic away. Also, they killed off one of my favs! 4/5

Day 10: 2 word title
I've seriously been thinking of re-reading this series lately, its been a few years & has one of my favorite characters in it. (Cole Stewart) I also really love how the 4 main characters were together, it was really cute lol
Also good and everything I said about the Darkest Minds goes for this one too.♥️ I highly recommend it.
Never Fade is Alexandra Bracken's second book in the Darkest Minds series. I can already tell this is going to be a great novel. The beginning of the book starts off with a lot of action (which I love). Alexandra's writing is so descriptive! It really paints a picture for her readers. The new characters that the author introduces are very well developed. I am so hooked and excited to read this book and the rest of the series. @MrsBabki
This book was so good! Lots of twists and turns!
Book 2 in the series and it's still holding my attention. Its another slow burn story but once it gets going, it really pulled me in. The story develops further and we gain some new friends. I really like Jude, he was a great addition. I love the connection between Liam and Ruby, I want a happy ending for them but who knows if they'll get it. These books are well written and detailed. I look forward to book 3.
Final time for #24B4Monday and wasnt actually too bad. Yesterday being the shortest day here due to the clocks change just flew by. Well done all. Finished two books and almost finished another one. @sumisbooks @andrew65 @jb72
Day 2 of #24B4Monday and I'm half way. I wont get to 24 hours but may get a few more in. Gotta brave the shops today which I'm dreading but we need food. Hope everyone is going well. @SumisBooks @andrew65 @jb72
I love this series, this book was great. The end.... it was so sad.
Well, it was good enough for me to buy the next one! I continue to enjoy the characters, and the story keeps me interested.
I read the first one a million years ago...I think it‘s probably time for #2 🤷🏻♀️
So I found this in my basement from when I was little and found out that it makes a perfect chair for reading😂. It‘s really funny so I had to take a picture❤️📖
I absolutely can NOT wait to find out wtf happens. I need to make sure that they‘re all alive and fighting against the evil powers that be lol I can‘t wait till Ruby shows them all that she‘s stronger than they imagined. Book number 16 of my year 🥰
Going from the absolute high of TDM, this book was a total disappointment. It was all just Ruby having to deal with the consequences of her decision at the end of book one, and I always have trouble with that kind of plot. Eventually it picked back up and I was able to enjoy it a bit, but the ending of this book has absolutely DESTROYED me 😭😭😭. Hopefully book 3 will be better.
This one took me a really like time to get into. I almost gave up at the halfway point. It picked up the second half, but not enough for this to be a pick for me. I already have the next one checked out, so I'll read it to see what happens. Hopefully it's better than this one.
Didn't get as many hours in today as I would have liked, but I did finally finish this book, so I'm happy.

“I feel like I'm losing my damn mind, like your face has been carved into my heart, and I don't remember when, and I don't understand why, but the scar is there, and I can't get it to heal. It won't go. I can't make it fade. And you won't even look at me.”
― Alexandra Bracken, Never Fade
Next up for my book club. We enjoyed ‘The Darkest Minds‘ so much that we‘ve decided to just continue the series.
Current read, from my very small book club. We liked the first book so much that we decided to read the second instead of picking a new book ✨
This took me forever to get through. Im not sure if I‘m stuck in a reading rut or if I just keep running into sequels I don‘t like, but there were times I didn‘t want to pick this up. I still want to finish the series, but if the 3rd book drags I‘m going to give up.
Hey guys! Just started my own Facebook group where people can chit chat and discuss anything book related! Feel free to find us !! 📚Wordy~By~Nature📚

I'm gonna DNF this book for now. I'm just not into this story, so there's really no point in continuing. Maybe I'll try again later, maybe I won't. We'll see.
I‘m a little early for #friyayintro but I missed doing these.
1. Atlantis
2. French fries!
3. Florence + the Machine and Of Monsters and Men
4. #neverfade the sequel to The Darkest Minds
5. I will try!
“And I don‘t know what was more powerful and gratifying to me - the look of terror that swept across his face, or the exhilaration of knowing I finally had my future back in my own hands.” Ughh this series just gets better and better!
Had a day with my daughter and granddaughter. Didn‘t get anything for myself but this one book 😝📖
Prefered the first one but still enjoyable. Lots of action and Ruby being kick ass.
Wow. So true. And I‘m pretty sure I‘m at hour 6, but I keep accidentally resetting my stop watch on my phone 😅#8intwo #currentread #neverfade
Getting some reading in before work! Even though I have a BUSY weekend ahead of me, I know I can do some #8intwo ☺️📖
That was the most painful character death since 'Deathly Hallows'. I am absolutely wrecked. Fuck.
Ehhhh. This is a post epidemic book. Somethings were solved too easily. And are there really just bags of chips and candy sitting around in abandoned gas stations?
1. Oldest
2. Nope.
3. One sister, three brothers
4. The March Sisters? The Covey Sisters?
5. Gonna look, will edit.

I had to force myself to finish this one...it was okay. There was a ton of action. Lots of emotional moments. But it didn‘t click as much as the first one did for me. I‘ll still give the next book a chance, but I might take a break from the series for a bit.
This is my second time reading Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken. I loved it just as much as I did the first time I read it. Ruby continues to grow, and the story went from dark to even darker. I‘m rooting for the children to win in the end. I haven‘t read the third book yet, so I‘m very excited to continue this story.
Maybe it would have been better if you had let them take me (p. 361)
🌟🌟🌟🌟 The plot advancement in this book is great! Some new characters are introduced and seeing them engage in banter with the old ones is hilarious. There is a tiny plot hole in the story*winces*. But overall, I liked it better than the first one.
