Just finished this one and really enjoyed it. I really disliked the characters in the book then one character seemed to redeem herself in the end. Great debut.

I love blood oranges, especially in mimosas 🍾
This book has a lot of wine drinking though. If you had to take a drink every time the main character drinks, you‘d probably be dead. This lady and the Woman in the Window lady would get along fabulously. #TeamSlaughter

I‘ve been hearing so much about this book I had to pick it up. Blood Orange definitely lived up to its hype 100% - I couldn‘t put it down. She nailed it. A fast paced thriller about Alison; wife, mother, a workaholic criminal attorney in London.. add to that an alcoholic and cheater.. I mean what could possibly go wrong, right??! E V E R Y T H I N G. I loved the surprise out of nowhere twist at the end.. shocking!!! Fabulous debut Ms. Tyce!

What have I got myself into? I‘m a third of the way in and all I‘ve experienced so far is an assortment of really bad behaviour from a bunch of nasty people. There are so many good reviews on this❓❓❓Should I continue?

Becker Update: I finished it and it‘s really not my thing. I think I was seduced by the cover 😆 7mo
gibblr Right now I feel the exact same way. Hopefully I‘ll finish in a few days and have a diff opinion? Let‘s see... 6mo

Holy unreliable narrator. All the characters were a psychiatrists nightmare. Allison appears to have it all. Then you meet ALL her flaws and karma runs right over her. You are ok with that..at first.. then you start to look deeper and see everyone's flaws and you end up rooting for her. Huge trigger warnings for domestic violence and rape. I thought from a psychology perspective this was well done. Read it in one sitting.

Why 4 stars then? I read 15 chapters of 25 in a row. 2/3 of the book in one sitting. I felt like someone‘s comeuppance was too neatly tied, very Christmasy if I do say so, and the other‘s didn‘t make sense. He was a slag, but he was maybe the only one using that lump 3 feet above his ass, so the ending didn‘t fit.

In short, like Law/Order, mindless, dirty, but entertaining with hints of thrill. A solid 4 quarters of the Blood Orange! 🍊

MellieAntoinette P.S. total #covercandy buy! And that tagline‘s a bit of a velociraptor - it‘ll whomp you over the head! 8mo

This was an episode of Law and Order. But with Mariska playing DC Miller. We needed way more Miller.

Because everything about the characters, the plot, the subplots lacked backbone. They lacked integrity. And there were some high flying, extremely professional jobs in here, which is shocking given no one, NO ONE, was using their brain. Super frustrating.

Integrity ... let‘s talk about that with another book, shall we? Cause the characters in this one were just bone deep awful. But they expected you to respect them. Mmm uh. Nope.

Thing is, I was fully prepared to give this 2.5 to 2.75 stars. It‘s not a horror, a suspense or even a thriller (although technically, I believe it‘s being billed as a legal thriller).

I put this as a pick but sometimes it was so- so. The main character really got on my nerves. I wanted to shout at her stand up for yourself a lot of the time. I couldn't feel sorry for her and mess she got in. #books #crimenovels

This book was recommended so I picked it up on a whim. Never, have I ever, wanted so badly to reach into a book and throttle a character, all while screaming “Get your s#@t together woman!” Anyway, not a single likable character in the book, yet it kept me up until 2 am finishing it. Gah!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Out in just a few weeks, this debut novel isn‘t exactly groundbreaking but it is solidly entertaining- I didn‘t love the MC, but I was hooked and the pages moved quickly! This is my #Finale read for January- bringing my monthly total to 25 books read! Not a bad way to kick off the new year! #ANewChapter @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @vkois88
