Totally in awe of this woman having the courage to tell her story of therapy. Very honest account of the feelings felt both in the therapy room and in the processing. Such a brilliant book for both therapists and survivors alike it gives hope that there is a way through it

Brilliant from the opening page to the closing one. A real mystery. A seemingly quiet tranquil island is holding a secret. On the discovery of a woman‘s body questions are raised as to who it might be and who who would do such a thing. As the book goes on you skywatcher learn the secrets that the island is holding. Heidi parks certainly knows how to keep a reader guessing. This is not a book you will want to put down

Those People | Louise Candlish
Mehso-so

Having loved our house I had high hope for those people. Unfortunately I was left wanting more. This was an ok read but it did take me a while. Lowland way sound the perfect place to live until Darren and his partner move in. Suddenly there is noise and renovations and altercations. This could not possibly end well. Friendships in the road are challenged as neighbours deal or don‘t deal with their frustrations

It‘s always good to come across an author that excites you. The housemate was brilliant from start to finish. Megan and Chloe have been friends from uni and move in together but need a housemate Sammi to share the cost. The saying three is a crowd comes to mind and it not harmonious. Friendships are tested. I was totally sucked in to the story and thought I had an idea of the end. How wrong could I have been.

This book just pulls you in from the first page to the last I was totally hooked. A murder of a young woman but how does this connect to a suicide a couple of years previously. This book is full of suspense and twists and turns. Will be reading more books by Claire Allan. This book felt fresh and definitely gripping. I read it in one sitting not one to put down 💜💜💜

The Lying Room | Nicci French
Mehso-so

Neve day goes from bad to worse walking in to find the body of her lover. Neve‘s first instinct is to remove any signs that she had been there in order to protect her family. I found the detective in this book very much in the vein of Columbo and all a little far fetched. A definite who done it where there are a few people all with motive. An alright read but not one of my favourites

I Know Who You Are | Alice Feeney
Pickpick

This book was a good read but was a little on the far fetched side. Aimee husband goes missing and she her finds herself accused of his murder. After this an already complicated life unravels further nobody appears to be who they say they are. Aimee has already lived a life most could not dream of. It‘s a good book and worth a read but the ending was just a little bit too far outside my imagination

I was captured with this book although I was confused how the stories all came together but they did. Ellie has led a life full of trauma from losing her mum at a young age to gaining a step mum. In the meaningful relationships where she has connection there is also loss. The accident impacts her and the journey of her life changes. Beautifully written. You really gain an understanding of Ellie and the people she meets.

This book was amazing and such an insight into the world of a person living with dementia. Helping raising the awareness. Thank you Wendy for putting into words your life. The courage and resilience coping with the losses and the uncertainty of the foggy times. The world with dementia is not one that was envisaged it steals the future that was dreamt of. Jessica is asked to write a piece on the incident only to find that she knows the family from childhood and is torn between her job and her past friendship. There is a history as Helens sister flora disappeared from a fairground when she was young. The book goes between the past and the present but is really easy to keep pace with. Another brilliant police procedural book by caro ramsay. Having followed the series from the beginning they just keep getting better. A really gritty story following the abduction of a six week old baby from the back of a car. The story just gets deeper and deeper the more you read it is not just one child having gone missing. Woman having children who then appear without children. Is there something bigger going on

Not my favourite book in the series to date. Struggled to get into it and did restart it. Noah is struggling after the death of his brother and the case he is working in us triggering issues. The team as a whole try and protect him but at the same time there is s case to solve where children are dying. The book deals with drugs gangs and knife crime so important topics just feel there was something missing in the character depth

If Only I Could Tell You | Hannah Beckerman
Pickpick

This book is brilliant really made me think about conversations I had not had with my family. One family impacted by events in one year which upended the whole family. Each person dealing with things in their own way but nobody talking. So much guilt and blame. Three decades later these unsaid conversations are impacting new and old relationships and are keeping a family at odds. Have the tissues ready for this one but definitely read it

Could you ever think the unthinkable. A loving mother who worries about her son and the impact of past events. A school that discourages parents into the school. A father with no access to the child and in the middle of all this a child. Tough subject matter but excellent book with vet plausible characters. 💜

A really gritty book but some parts I found hard to read. Sophie comes from a average and innocent background and goes on to attend oxford university drawn into a world of privilege. What starts out as trying to fit in turns into something a lot more sinister. The tale flits from julianne to Sophie and from past to present. You can never outrun the past.

Another masterpiece by Fiona Barton. So interesting when you follow Kate a reporter in one role yet on the other hand you follow her emotional journey as a mother whose son Jake has been away from home. It becomes a race against time to find the killer before other children are killed and can it all relate back to the party that ended in tragedy?
