Think this Book could be a real help to people in their grief. Knowing that all feelings are ok and there is no time limit to the grief. For professionals working in bereavement would definitely add this to your reading library 📚

I can‘t recommend this book highly enough for those who have experienced trauma and for those working with trauma. Difficult content but written in such a way as to give a deeper understanding of trauma and the impact it had going forward. It gives hope to healing and living with complex ptsd
the topic was very poignant bearing in mind the pandemic. Really well written and made me think outside my own bubble. Did struggle a little with keeping track of the characters. Deeply thought provoking book.
First book I have read in a while that kept my attention all the way through. Interesting plot abs characters. Definitely one for the to read pile
For anyone that wants to understand DID or the impact of trauma either being a survivor of abuse or a therapist working in this area I cant rate this book highly enough. The book looks more at recovery and the obstacles survivors face daily rather than going into the abuse itself.
DID is still misrepresented by media and this book shows the real world for someone who is a multiple
Thank you for being so open and honest in your account.
An amazing book for psychotherapists working with clients with DID. This gives an insight into the world of DID and shows the importance the the therapeutic relationship. Also good for people with DID it can be a scary journey but this book can make it a little less so. There are good people out there. This book captures a truly amazing journey for both therapist and client. Thank you for the generosity and courage in sharing this journey
This was just a lovely read. From start to finish. There were times when I found myself rushing to turn the page to find out what happened. Really wanting that happy ending. A story of life really of love loss friendships family relationships. Of coming together and of partings. It tells of all those conversations we wish we had had and also the miscommunication and parts we keep hidden. Brilliant and lovely
B A Paris,‘s books never ever disappoint and this book is up there as one of the best. The plot is amazing and in my wildest dreams did not see the story play out as it did.. At every point you wonder could it have been. The characters come alive through the pages. Brilliant from start to finish 5 star rating from me
Brilliant book so many little stories interweaving into the big story. I love the way Diane Jeffery builds the characters of her books giving them a life and history. There are so many ways this story could have ended. Kept me guessing till the turn of the final page
This is one book I didn‘t want to end. It just a beautiful story of family. Lizzie comes back to moon farm after the death of her grandma with one plan in place sell moon farm snd carry on with her life. But is this a time to look at the past events and right any wrongs
Linda Green never disappoints with her books I always give a 5 star rating. One moment is just beautiful. It‘s sad in parts as you watch Finn struggle to be accepted for who he is. Kaz enters Finns world and they both help one another find way forward. The story is about love, loss connections and families. Loved it
Really good engrossing book. Jeffery Denver has a way of really getting you to engage with his characters and this book is no different. Great plot. Colt has his own story and answers he trying to find but in the meantime along the way helps others find answers even if it is closure
Gilly Macmillan never fails to write a brilliant plot. Unique storyline which keep me reading till the last turn of the page. There is so many twists and turns iLucy brother vanished without a trace leaving Lucy to invent Eliza. To help her through. Eliza is ever present in. Lucy‘s life through her best selling stories. Lucy is suddenly thrown back into a world of rumour and speculation. A real page turner
This book was heartbreaking but beautiful. So brilliantly written With so much passion and feeling. Vanessa carnevale takes you on the journey with nick and Paige to parenthood. A journey that is looked forward to with such hope for the future but also with the fear of what this could actually mean. The courage and strength of Paige to put the life of her unborn baby ahead of herself. So delicately and beautiful written
What could possibly go wrong working in a beautiful house as a carer/companion for an elderly lady add in a daughter who never appears to have a good word to say and then to find that your predecessors has died an untimely death
Claire Douglas never fails to deliver and this book was no different. Great storyline with some real characters and as always the bit you never saw coming. Engaging and kept me hooked till the turn of the final page
This is probably the first book I have wanted to read while also needing to have my eyes shut to some of the scenes being described. iris has a huge strength of character throughout the book and grasped what she wanted from life without conforming to the expected. The characters come alive and you live some and hate some in equal measure. Definitely worth the read and opens up discussion
I enjoyed this book far more than I thought I would. The story follows Vivian ,who was no angel but also had a degree a innocence about her, through her life from a young woman to old age. You meet the people who were important to Vivian and those who have an impact and left a memory good and bad. Just a beautiful read start to finish
Freya is at a really low point in her life when suddenly she is offered a stunning apartment. Can her luck really be changing can she dare to dream of a better future for her. A Really good read I could really get a feel of the emotion that Freya was feeling when things started to happen. The book takes a time to build and to get the reader engaged with the happens at adder house but comes together very quickly at the end
A really good read. I found it a bit difficult at the beginning to get a grip on the characters as in how they all related to each other and who was with who but when u got it I was hooked. The story starts two tears previously after the disappearance of Jessica and slowly you gain an understanding of how that event has a bearing in the characters today. Rowzee who is a strong central charecter throughout is just so real and adorable 💜
Another great book following Detective Kim Stone and her team. on her search for a killer into a world it‘s hard to believe actually exists. How does jake charm people young and old ? What secrets are held behind the doors of the farm and how does it contain so much power for people to drop contact with family and friends. Sinking into one of Angela Marsons books you know you won‘t be disappointed
Pure brilliance. On the surface Alison has everything a family money and a good career. But it‘s what lurks under that. Harriet tyce has created a very real character in Alison she is not perfect by any stretch but who is. The subject matter is powerful and shows how easy gaslighting and emotional abuse happens. There is almost three stories in one a very powerful thought provoking gritty read
One evening out with a group of friends can change the course of people‘s lives for good. A brilliant story which shows how one event which they were all part of has different impacts on the group and on the families. Brilliant portrayal of what the journey through grief can look like with so many conflicting emotions. Can this small group heal or at least find a way forward from the events if that one fateful night. I was hooked
This was a beautiful book pure escapism. It‘s the first book I have read by Paige toon and I was captivated with it from the first to the last page.
Another great book by Louise cavendish. Two couples become friends. Jamie and kit share the morning commute together and Melia and Clare work for the same company but how honest is the friendship. There are so many twists and turns in this book just as I thought I had it so it twisted again. Highly recommend this book
It took me a little while to get into this book but when I did I got a real sense of the characters. Liane moriarty feeds in more about the visitors to Tranquillum House as the book goes in. Each visitor comes to find their own peace but the question is will they get the enlightenment they are each seeking.
There is something special about B A Paris from the moment you open the first page she has you hooked.
The dilemma is another brilliant read. It‘s the day of a party but both Adam and Livia are holding things inside about their daughter Marnie. The party should be perfect it has been planned for years but the weight of the secrets they are each holding takes it toll
Definitely a book you won‘t want to put down.
Brilliant from start to finish. Definitely need your tissues for this one and a free afternoon. A story about family bonds and the need for a sister to find her long lost brother. Really original storyline and characters you will get to know
Really enjoyable read. Remind me if an old whodunit movie. A real page turner with everyone under suspicion
First Mark Billingham I have picked up in a while and I was not disappointed. Clever app lot and lovely to read about Tom Thorne again
Brilliant book full of twists and turns. Just when you think the story cannot unfold any further it does. How far will people go for money? This book certainly did not disappoint and kept me reading
Totally in awe of this woman having the courage to tell her story of therapy. Very honest account of the feelings felt both in the therapy room and in the processing. Such a brilliant book for both therapists and survivors alike it gives hope that there is a way through it
This was a beautiful book. Hitch‘s life has been largely defined on the expectation of others and at the cost of her own happiness. One day a strangers walks into her life and turns its head. Could she dare to follow her dreams and become the person she wants. This book shows the resilience and willpower of one courageous woman. A tale expertly told with a powerful message
Really insightful powerful book following a mother with a young baby following the unexpected death of her husband. Beautifully written looking at her relationships and a future after the worst has happened
Brilliant from the opening page to the closing one. A real mystery. A seemingly quiet tranquil island is holding a secret. On the discovery of a woman‘s body questions are raised as to who it might be and who who would do such a thing. As the book goes on you skywatcher learn the secrets that the island is holding. Heidi parks certainly knows how to keep a reader guessing. This is not a book you will want to put down
Having loved our house I had high hope for those people. Unfortunately I was left wanting more. This was an ok read but it did take me a while. Lowland way sound the perfect place to live until Darren and his partner move in. Suddenly there is noise and renovations and altercations. This could not possibly end well. Friendships in the road are challenged as neighbours deal or don‘t deal with their frustrations
It‘s always good to come across an author that excites you. The housemate was brilliant from start to finish. Megan and Chloe have been friends from uni and move in together but need a housemate Sammi to share the cost. The saying three is a crowd comes to mind and it not harmonious. Friendships are tested. I was totally sucked in to the story and thought I had an idea of the end. How wrong could I have been.
This book just pulls you in from the first page to the last I was totally hooked. A murder of a young woman but how does this connect to a suicide a couple of years previously. This book is full of suspense and twists and turns. Will be reading more books by Claire Allan. This book felt fresh and definitely gripping. I read it in one sitting not one to put down 💜💜💜
Neve day goes from bad to worse walking in to find the body of her lover. Neve‘s first instinct is to remove any signs that she had been there in order to protect her family. I found the detective in this book very much in the vein of Columbo and all a little far fetched. A definite who done it where there are a few people all with motive. An alright read but not one of my favourites
DIJess Bishop is officially off work but at the request of a colleague to check on her nephew she stumbles upon the suicide of a young man. It turns out this is not the first or even the second. Jess is tasked with looking into this but is thwarted at ever turn. Something more sinister must be at play. The more the team investigate the more dangerous it is for them. Full of intrigue the story gets deeper and deeper the more you read
This book was a good read but was a little on the far fetched side. Aimee husband goes missing and she her finds herself accused of his murder. After this an already complicated life unravels further nobody appears to be who they say they are. Aimee has already lived a life most could not dream of. It‘s a good book and worth a read but the ending was just a little bit too far outside my imagination
I was captured with this book although I was confused how the stories all came together but they did. Ellie has led a life full of trauma from losing her mum at a young age to gaining a step mum. In the meaningful relationships where she has connection there is also loss. The accident impacts her and the journey of her life changes. Beautifully written. You really gain an understanding of Ellie and the people she meets.
I loved this book. Something so different. My only thing was I did not want it to end I wanted to know shat happened next. Lauren has given birth to twins but is immediately plunged into a world of fear after an unexpected visitor in the middle of the night to the maternity ward. What will happen to hear and the twins and who is going to believe her. Lauren isolates herself but will it be enough to protect her family
You always know when you pick up a Jane Casey book your in for s good read and this one is no exception. Kerrigan is in the team looking into the murder of three woman. The man accused having been released due to a jury member acting inappropriately. Now there is a time scale to prepare for the retrial but is everything as it should be or could the killings have been by someone else. A really good police procedural book.
This book was amazing and such an insight into the world of a person living with dementia. Helping raising the awareness. Thank you Wendy for putting into words your life. The courage and resilience coping with the losses and the uncertainty of the foggy times. The world with dementia is not one that was envisaged it steals the future that was dreamt of. A very powerful read and definitely one that really touched me
Such a really easy read so easy I read it in a day. The title is really apt you really could not see what was coming. Although the topic is a murder it feels like there is a lighthearted element to the book which makes it fresh and different. Love this author
It starts with a murder and a young woman in a coma . Jessica is asked to write a piece on the incident only to find that she knows the family from childhood and is torn between her job and her past friendship. There is a history as Helens sister flora disappeared from a fairground when she was young. The book goes between the past and the present but is really easy to keep pace with. A page turner as every page leaves you with another question
This book was brilliant very engaging pulls you straight in to the story and the characters and keeps you guessing till the end. The story is told through the view point of the mother the father and the daughter. Every chapter left you with more questions. Nice to come across a new author who gets me hooked 💜
Another brilliant police procedural book by caro ramsay. Having followed the series from the beginning they just keep getting better. A really gritty story following the abduction of a six week old baby from the back of a car. The story just gets deeper and deeper the more you read it is not just one child having gone missing. Woman having children who then appear without children. Is there something bigger going on
Izzy had dreams of being a dancer but after her mother‘s murder and her father being convicted life changed. 18 years on her father is released protesting his innocence.
