Honestly can say that I was bored by this book. I thought it had potential and could have been a good read but I just did not vibe with it. Amy from Kansas was just a little to lack luster and the insta love romance was not it. The characters were not developed and we kept switching who was involved with very little detail.

This series is a fun reinvention of the wizard of oz. Dorothy is the villain of the story, wicked is good, and good is wicked. Everything is upside down. I love reading rewrites of fairy tales and popular stories so this one is a favorite!

Here‘s my review for a book I just finished listening to. This was a reread for me. It‘s 4:30 AM and I just finished this book. At first, I wasn‘t going to finish because I had 3 hours left in the audiobook and I could have easily gone to bed at 2 AM and finished later but I decided to just stay up late and finish it since it was getting good and I wanted to know how it was going to end.

Here is my reading progress for a book I‘m currently listening to. I did laundry and played Bubble Witch 3 Saga while listening to this. I‘m not finished doing laundry but I‘m not going to do the rest of it tonight. It‘s 4 AM and I still want to listen to the rest of this book. I‘m almost finished with this book. I have about 3 hours left in the audiobook.

Here is my reading progress for a book I‘m currently listening to. I‘m borrowing this one from Libby. I looked and saw that I only have 10 days left to borrow this book. I have to return it by July 25 but I feel like I should be able to finish it before then as long as I listen to this book everyday. I listened tonight for 3 hours so I feel like I made a lot of progress. I had 10 hrs left in the book before and now I have 8 hrs.

I really enjoyed this take on Wizard of Oz - Dorothy returns to Oz and ruins it - Amy is sent from Kansas (by a tornado) to save Oz - I have already started the 2nd book in the series - I don't always fall in love with a series (one and done) but this has me hooked 😀

In this book. We go back to Oz but now Dorthy is the queen and she is Evil. Amy and the people that she meets in Oz work together to bring down Dorthy and kill her. We see the story through Amy‘s eyes and all of her thoughts and feeling about what‘s happening during her adventures and the internal struggles she goes through.

But what I really wanted to know as we soared into the clouds, the jeweled city burning below us and the Tin Woodman‘s evil heart still pulsing in my hand, was where Dorothy was. I didn‘t know what was going on or where I was going, but I knew one thing: this wasn‘t over. Even if I had failed tonight, at least I was one step closer. No matter how long it took—no matter who I had to destroy first—Dorothy was going to die.

Currently reading! I usually don't go for retellings but I LOVE The Wizard of OZ!! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! So I'm reading this one. New author for me. I hope I'm not disappointed in the end. I already got the entire series, lol. Are there any fans of OZ like me?

4/5 for the first in this series! This book has been on my TBR for so long! I should have read it sooner. I loved this darker Wizard of Oz tale. Amy is a great character. I just loved her. I cannot wait to read the next book!

Really a fun read. Light and easy to get through. It was a good choice to read between busy times at work. I'm going to have to pick up the rest of this series now though!

I absolutely love this book. I just wish there was more to Amy and Nox‘s relationship.

I went to the theater last night. It was a beautiful and interactive showing about the lows of depression and finding the joys in life. At one point, the actor yells out, who has a book? Well of course I have a book! Lol The laughter as they read my book title and then commented, always bring a book the the theater. I'm pretty sure a few will be looking it up though lol

On to my next TBR choice. This is a fun read so far.

I watched #TheWizardofOz in Technicolor every year at Easter. But when I was a kid, I must‘ve also read like 20 Oz books. Last night I spent a chunk of time down the Wikipedia rabbit hole last night trying to understand the Oz books copyright. Btw, if you donate at all, consider donating a coffee or two to Wikipedia.

And I finished Dorothy Must Die. Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️ She did nail the creepy, though, gotta say. How many Oz books have you read? #yabooks

I was SO excited about the world promised in this book, and so disappointed by the the delivery. What this could have been in the hands of, say, Brom, would have been amazing! Instead, it‘s a Mary Sue tale that falls apart at the end.

Intrigued.

I love how they take the original and add on to it. I think if you are looking for a book to read this is a really good one. It keeps you on your toes

It is about a young girl in high school named Amy Gumm who is constantly being bullied and abused by her mother. Similar to the “Wizard of Oz“ fairy tale, she gets sucked into a tornado and is transported to Oz. Throughout the book, she goes through a whole mission inside the Emerald Palace meeting many characters from the original tale “Wizard of Oz“.

I normally steer clear of YA ... angsty teen romance or sparkly vampires really aren‘t my preferred genres ... but this was pretty good. I like the source material and Amy seems believable in her role. Not sharing “the plan” really moved the story along as I wanted to see where it was going. Thank you Hoopla, this was an audiobook review. ⭐️⭐️⭐️7/8 ... Happy Sunday 😁
