so-soI found the writing a bit stilted, but that could just be that it‘s the 1st in a series. There is a touch of humor though. Monica is an “unnatural witch, who has come over to the mortal side to run her aunt‘s bookstore. Monica comes across as quaint because she doesn‘t know how to pronounce everything properly. She is attracted to the local detective so she becomes involved in helping him solve a recent murder. 3.5⭐️
pickThe final book in the series, we finally get to see all of the secrets brought to light, and a resolution to the situation with the council.
I will admit, I still had issues with the pacing at times, and I got frustrated with our main characters quite often, but overall I still mostly enjoyed this series.
pickWhile I feel like this one didn't quite live up to the first book in the series, I still enjoyed it.
The pace is significantly slower in this book, and it definitely took me longer to read, but it also brought in more history and detail, creating something really beautiful.
Overall, this was absolutely still a pick that left me more than ready to pick up the third and final book.
Honestly, I‘ve been thinking about this book and Very Secret Society constantly lately, so here. I don‘t even need to have magic here, but I‘d love to live in the cozy, found family, magical world built in these two books.

pickWhile this wasn‘t my favorite from this author, it was still very good. There were slower parts in the middle but it picked up again. This story follows three MCs and goes back and forth to their different times, with the “present day” being 1998. There‘s an eerie, witchy feel to it and plenty of mysterious events. Each MC has a mystery to solve with the three connecting in the end. The characters were well written and there was so much intrigue.
